SOL National Conference

WILLIAM TENNENT 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-10, 25-15, 25-13)
The Panthers rolled to a sweep over the Tigers, but the big story of the match was setter Izzy Goebel breaking the program’s all-time assist record when she registered assist number 1,644. The record was previously held by Alexandria Koppany with 1,643.
“Izzy has been a vital part of the varsity program since her freshman year and has grown into a great leader, player and most importantly a great person,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. “Congratulations Izzy - we are all proud of you.”
Goebel finished with 19 assists.
“We got contributions up and down the lineup with some nice service runs and some good in-system play from the passing to the swings up front,” Bassler said.
Lauren Marsland’s nine kills led the Panthers while Kristina Bentsionova and Emmerson McElhinney both had six kills. Margaux Kellum led the defense with 19 digs. Grace Sabara led a strong service game with seven aces and also had five digs. Jalicea Torres added four aces.
William Tennent (7-5, 3-4 SOL) will travel to Council Rock South Thursday, and Harry S Truman (3-7, 0-7) will host MaST Community Charter on Monday in a non-league match.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-23)
The Golden Hawks upped their record to 6-0 in conference play and 8-2 overall.
South played the strongest defensive game of the season with standout defense by setters Emelie Korn and Olivia DeSaro as well as DS Chloe Brossman and Libero Halle Wilson. “Against some big hitters and strong servers from CR North, CR South proved again that they don’t give up when they are down and steadily battled back with even, consistent, unrattled play,” Rock South coach Kelly Korn said. “(We) battled back from a 15-9 deficit to tie it up at 15-15 in set 3.
“Impressive, smart offense put together by pin hitters Nala Kauer, Emelie Korn and Olivia DeSaro and middle Kristina Shumakov.”
Council Rock South will host William Tennent on Thursday and will have a non-league matchup at Strath Haven on Friday. Council Rock North (6-5, 5-2 SOL) will host Bensalem Thursday.

PENNSBURY 3, BENSALEM 0

SOL Continental Conference

PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-20)
The Lady Rams swept the visiting Indians and improved to 13-0 overall for the season.
Birthday girl Sloane Gochin was a force to be reckoned with, contributing 14 digs and seven kills from the right side pin. Outside hitters Caitlyn Kuntz and Melissa Hinkson contributed 20 kills, 24 digs, and five aces to the team’s success. On defense, Shannon Leo led the team with an impressive 30 digs. Setters Aubrie Schulz and Delaney Schwind led the Rams offense and combined for 31 assists and 15 digs.
For the Indians, Lauren Vince led the way with seven kills, 12 digs and two aces. Kylie Okeefe added six kills. Zoe Folk led the defense with 24 digs. Caroline Bache had nine assists and four digs. Stella Power contributed eight digs, two kills and two aces while Ella Rothenberger had three kills.
Pennridge (13-0, 7-0 SOL) will travel to Central Bucks West on Thursday, and Souderton (6-5, 3-4) will be on the road at Central Bucks East Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-22)
Central Bucks West swept Central Bucks South in three at home. The Bucks went out aggressively and showcased their talent by playing as a cohesive team. There was outstanding service all around from West with notable performance from Kya Lynch and Ashlyn Kear. Ashlyn Kear did a fantastic job stepping in to set tonight for West.
The Bucks were strong and aggressive on attack with Kya Lynch leading in kills, followed by outstanding performances from Ava Streibig, Erinn McCusker, Molly Kearns, and Keeley Fialkowski at the net. Defensively, Kya Lynch and Emily Ferrese were strong and consistent on both serve receive and in response to the Titan’s attacks. The Bucks continue to demonstrate their tenacity on the court and their strength in collaborating as a team.
Lynch led the Bucks at the net with 18 kills and four blocks. She also had a team-high 23 digs and five aces. Elisa Kremser (13 assists, 12 digs, 2 blocks, 1 kill), McCusker (9 assists, 5 kills, 11 digs, 1 ace) and Kear (5 assists, 3 aces, 4 digs) shared setting duties. Emily Ferrese also had a big game defensively with 20 digs and also had two assists and one ace. Ava Streibig contributed three kills, two blocks and one ace.
Central Bucks West (5-8, 5-2 SOL) will host conference-leading Pennridge on Thursday, and Central Bucks South (5-8, 2-5) will travel to Springside Chestnut Hill Academy for a non-league match Saturday.

SOL American Conference

PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 3, ABINGTON 2 (19-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-23, 15-7)
In arguably the best SOL match of the night, the Colonials rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the visiting Ghosts in five hard-fought sets.
“It was probably the best match I’ve ever been a part of,” Abington coach Dan Marsh said. “Both teams played so hard and fought for every point. Unfortunately, we came up short.”
For the Colonials, the win avenged a 3-1 loss to Abington in an early season meeting.
“The team played well in all phases of the game,” PW coach Dave Stewart said. “The block was much stronger this time around.”
As a team, the Colonials had 14 blocks on the day, led by Ryleigh Gunn with five, Siena Repici with three and Amanda Busk with three.
Amanda Busk led PW with 15 kills and three blocks, Marissa Storti added 12 kills and four aces, and the setters did a great job with Ella Walker leading the way with 22 assists and Brooke Peduzzi with 18 assists. The defense was led by Chloe Esslinger (20 digs) and Giules Storti (15 digs and 5 aces).
For the Ghosts, setter Mary Carter had 44 assists. Sasha Moore (22 kills) and Sofie Heininger (21 kills) combined for 43 kills.
PW (10-2, 6-2 SOL) is traveling to New Hope Solebury on Thursday evening to participate in their Dig Pink match. Abington (7-3, 6-2) will travel to Springfield Twp on Thursday.

QUAKERTOWN 3, SAUCON VALLEY 1

Krysalyn Juchno and Ellie White were a dangerous duo at the net, combining for 35 kills to lead the visiting Panthers to the non-league win.
Juchno led the Panthers with 18 kills to go along with six digs while White had 17 kills, four aces, two blocks and three digs. Alex Laco contributed six kills, one block and two digs. Setter Genevieve Clark had a busy night, handing out 44 assists to go along with three kills, two aces and nine digs. Colleen Gallagher added four aces and nine digs while Meghan Steiert led the defense with 16 digs.
Quakertown (4-6, 1-5 SOL) will travel to North Penn on Thursday.
