Goal #1 – Katie Lukens (Mia Baron assist)
Goal #2 – Mia Baron (Marleigh Burton assist)

Halftime score: 1-1

PW went down 1-0 early on a rainy day at Quakertown. We answered back quickly after. Mia Baron played a beautiful corner kick and senior captain / centerback Katie Lukens headed it in to tie the game.

The rest of the half was pretty even.

Midway through the second half, freshmen leftback Harper Reilly made a run down the left side of the field and put a cross in. Junior forward Marleigh Burton tipped it to the backpost where our other junior forward, Mia Baron, put it in at the back post.

Both teams had a few more opportunities to score as we hit crossbar on a header and missed a breakaway.

Mia Baron had her best game of the season. Junior midfielder/forward Keira Whelan was terrific with her hold-up play throughout the game. Sophomore Maddi Lazaroff had to step in and play defensive midfield for most of the game and she really came into her own.

Quality game from goalkeeper Olivia Bragg and our backline of Harper Reilly, Katie Lukens, Kaiane Jayo, and Maddie McLaughlin was just tremendous. Quakertown has very dangerous wings and our back four dealt with them well. While the first 60 minutes was back and forth, we really had to defend for the final 20 minutes as Quakertown pushed forward for an equalizer.

Both teams were a bit under-manned today with injury / illness and both teams really battled in the rain for 80 minutes. Terrific game.
