Parkland came to visit today in a rematch of our stage tournament game last fall. Both teams came into the game a bit short handed, but the competitiveness from last fall picked right up. We were able to get on the board midway through the first half when Brianna Howard found Gianna Kirlin making a darting run to give us the lead. Parkland was able to equalize just before the half and we were deadlocked at the break. Midway through the second half a Parkland player drew a penalty and they went up 2-1. We continued to battle and Kathryn O’Kane found the far upper 90 with 1:45 left in regulation to force OT. I thought we dominated the first OT and were unlucky to not get a winner. They had a better run of play the second OT and we walked away with a draw. It was a good game for us against a D11 Powerhouse. They played a different style so to have to adjust will do us some good moving forward. O’Kane took a beating today but was dynamic for us and I thought Krissy Philip had a great game in our back line. Ella Mayberry came up huge in some aerial battles in goal to help split the points. No time to rest as we head to Pennridge tomorrow.
