Strengths: “The team has demonstrated a shared sense of purpose and high accountability. A strong work ethic over the offseason has developed a sense of mutual respect. Our ability to score from each position on the floor will be something we can exploit.”
Question Marks: “Our practices have been important to determine what Junior, Sophomore or 9th grader can provide effective varsity minutes. Until this is solidified, the staff will continue to develop skill and look for the maturity to contribute at the Varsity level. As we stand today, we have good players who can run offense: as coaches we are looking to develop great players who can read defenses.”
Outlook: “We look to compete again for the division title and make a run in district play. Despite losing three collegiate players, we continued with a tough non-league schedule, including Lansdale Catholic, Conestoga and Spring-Ford. On top of the always tough Patriot Division teams, the new SOL schedule format has us playing the top SOL teams from each division, rather than our typical crossover with the challenging Colonial Division.
“At our year end team meeting, through today, Alena Cofield has established herself as the unquestioned team leader on and off the court. We will depend on her and co-captain Ashlyn Duffy to raise our maturity level as quickly as possible. Sophomore Auslyn Wilkins has demonstrated in our practices the ability to contribute this year. Who will fill additional minutes will come down to the possibility from an array of players fighting to crack the varsity lineup such as juniors Camryn Rodriguez, Sydney Snyder, and freshman Ella Hoyas.”
