Last year’s record: 17-12 overall; 10th seed out of District 1; lost to Parkland 1st round states
Notable losses: Jaden Colzie (Jefferson University); Jah Sayles (Grayson Jr College; Texas), Ben Marsico
Key returners: Mani Sajid (Jr/G); Michael Pereira (Jr Center); Jack Hayes (Jr PG); Caleb Bridgeman (Sr G); Micah Thompson (Jr Fwd); Ehab Ahmed (Sr F);
Others to watch: Buddy Denard (Soph PG); Terron Davis (Jr G); Eric Conicello (Jr G); Eddie Patruno (Jr G/F); Tyriq Taylor (Sr G/PG)
Strengths: Guard play, inside presence, shooting, more seasoned, depth.
Question marks: How long will it take us to build chemistry and gain experience as several players are new to consistent game time.
Outlook: “We return 12 players from last season including three starters. We are led by 6’5” junior guard Mani Sajid and 6’9” junior center Michael Pereira, both of whom have evolved their games as well as recognition since last season. Jack Hayes returns as a primary point guard and floor leader along with sophomore Buddy Denard. In addition to Mani, we have depth in the scoring guard position in Eric Conicello, Terron Davis, Caleb Bridgeman, and Eddie Patruno, and feature Ehab Ahmed and Micah Thompson joining Pereira in the forward/center positions. We have the potential to be a deep, up-tempo team as well as display a physically strong half-court game.”
