SOL American Conference

WISSAHICKON 3, NORTH PENN 2 (17-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-22, 15-10)

The Wissahickon Trojans were smarting after a straight 3-set loss to Pennridge on Tuesday night as they welcomed the undefeated North Penn Knights on Wednesday.
The Knights came out strong and convincingly took the first 2 sets 25-17 and 25-22. The Trojans regrouped in set 3 and finally got on the board with a tough 26-24 win. Set 4 was equally well played before the Trojans won (25-22). Set 5 was won 15-10 highlighted by some great blocks by senior Colin Ramos (5 Kills and 5 Blocks) and junior Dean Bowers (2 Kills and 6 Blocks). The Trojans had a well-balanced attack led by Aiden Robinson who had 16 Kills, 1 Ace, 3 Blocks and 5 Digs. Junior Jonas Sabia had 13 Kills, 1 Ace, 3 Blocks and 7 Digs. Freshman Libero Joseph Oh had 5 Digs, including a key dig that ignited the Trojans. Senior Nate Oh had 33 Assists to go along with 3 Kills and 3 Digs. Reed Harris had another solid performance with 17 Kills, 1 Ace, 3 Blocks, 8 Assists and 7 Digs.

Up next: Wisssahickon (7-1, 5-1 SOL) will compete in the Haverford Tournament on Saturday. North Penn (5-1) will host Central Bucks East Thursday.

CENTRAL BUCKS WEST 3, CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2 (16-25, 27-29, 25-23, 25-20, 18-16)
The Bucks notched an impressive come-from-behind win. After dropping the first two sets to the Titans – including a grueling second set, the Bucks reeled off hard-fought wins in the next three to earn the five-set win.

SOUDERTON 3, QUAKERTOWN 1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20)
The Indians dropped the first set of Wednesday’s match but then won the next three by identical 25-20 scores.

BENSALEM 3, NORTHEAST 1
The Owls dropped the first set and stole the next three.
The Owls were led by Roman Walsh (19 kills 8 digs 1 blocks) who also hit .405, Shivam Patel (12 kills 4 digs 3 aces 2 blocks), Suhaan Patel (6 kills 2 blocks). Ethan Choi (14 digs 3 assists 1 ace) and Veer Patel ran the offense well with 40 assists 8 digs 2 blocks. Eldar Aikmitov and Ronak Patel served hard with 3 aces each.
Bensalem coach Ricky Patel: “We really needed to play our A game, and we did that. I’m proud at the effort my guys showed today.”
