On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, Souderton’s Houston Marshall & Jack Potson were recognized for committing to play football at the collegiate level.
Houston Marshall – Susquehanna University (Football)
Major: Accounting & Finance
Final list of colleges: Susquehanna, Ursinus, Lycoming, Wilkes
Reasons for choosing Susquehanna: “I chose Susquehanna because I liked the overall vibes of the team and the team
chemistry they had.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite memory was beating CB West because specifically – I had a very long run and the adrenaline I got from it was very high, and the energy was very high from my teammates.”
Coach Ed Gallagher: “Houston was an outstanding football player for us. I just really have appreciated the growth he has made since his freshman year. He tore his ACL and wasn’t able to play his freshman season. He came back and was still rehabbing it as a sophomore and mainly played JV. He worked his way into the starting lineup as a junior, but no one could have seen the advancement he was going to make from junior to senior year. He became one of the best players in the league. He was our leading tackler, our leading rusher and just a great all-around student athlete.”

Reasons for choosing Salisbury: “I chose Salisbury because it just felt like home.”
Favorite high school sports memory: “My favorite sports memory was beating CB West this year. It was just crazy.”
Coach Ed Gallagher: “Jack got on the field for us early. As a sophomore, he was playing some defensive end, and he became a two-year starter at both tight end and defensive end. He’s a really good blocker, he has good hands as a receiver, and he was definitely disruptive on the defensive line – he had a bunch of sacks, and he really made a good choice with Salisbury.”
