Mark Selverian – Widener University (Baseball)
Major: Marketing
Reasons for choosing Widener: “I chose Widener because it has a good baseball program, a great coach, a nice campus, and it’s a great academic school.”
What was the progression that led you to compete in baseball at the collegiate level? “Playing college baseball was always a goal of mine since I was a young kid. My passion grew as I played for Diamond Baseball Academy and Wissahickon High School.
“The recruiting process started for me last year when I had to decide what I want out of college and what the best fit academically would be for me. That’s when I recognized that Widener University was the ideal fit for me as it perfectly aligned with both my academic and athletic aspirations. This was a significant milestone in my journey.”
Coach Andy Ngo: “Mark Selverian was a three-year varsity player for us. Mark has come a long way over his time at Wiss. Coming in as a catcher and leaving as a guy who can pretty much play any position on the field and play it well. He made a ton of tough plays at third base look routine over the last two years. Offensively, Mark was a big swinger who always looked to do damage. He is also unselfish and willing to do whatever it takes to get on base as Mark set the single season Wiss Baseball hit-by-pitch record this season with 11. We are looking forward to seeing Mark continue his baseball career at the next level at Widener.”
