On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, seven Souderton seniors were recognized for committing to continue their baseball careers at the collegiate level.
Tyler Deery – Stevenson University (Baseball)
Major: Biology
Final list of colleges: Stevenson, Washington College, Eastern Mennonite
Reasons for choosing Stevenson: “I chose Stevenson not only because of the opportunities on the baseball field and the facilities but also in the classroom.”
Coach Mike Childs: “Tyler stepped up as one of our top leaders. His size makes him a triple threat with the bat, in the field, and on the mound. Stevenson is getting a top-notch player.”

Benjamin Divens – Immaculata College (Baseball)
Major: Pre-law
Final list of colleges: Immaculata, Coast Guard Academy
Reasons for choosing Immaculata: “I wanted to go into some branch of the military, and the Coast Guard Academy also had baseball, which is a cool thing. It didn’t end up working out, but I feel God had a plan for me, and He sent me to Immaculata University, and I’m very excited for that.”
Coach Mike Childs: “It was a pleasure to watch Ben develop into the pitcher he became as a senior. His hard work and confidence shown throughout the season. He came in and closed out some big games for us, especially against North Penn and Boyertown. He will definitely continue that success at the next level, on and off the field.”

Connor Klock – New Jersey Institute of Technology (Baseball)

Reasons for choosing NJIT: “I chose New Jersey Tech because of the facilities and the coaching staff, and they have a great plan for me.”
Coach Mike Childs: “I have watched Connor Klock develop on the field since he has been eight years old. Since he has been young, he has been a great defensive catcher, catching and blocking every ball that comes his way. His bat is what got him on varsity as a three-year starter and improved every year, adding more power each year. He is a very driven player, which will allow him to challenge for a starting spot in his first year at college.”

Coach Mike Childs: “Ryan is one of the hardest working kids I know. He is a leader and is always willing to help out the younger catchers in our program. I believe all his hard work will pay off in college. “

Reasons for choosing JMU: “I chose James Madison because of the coaches and the campus.”
Coach Mike Childs: “It has been a pleasure watching Tyler - who started as a super nice, quiet kid - turn into a high energy, left-handed pitcher who has been motivating his teammates since his 10th grade year. His hard work and energy made him a great player, earning him first team all-league and team MVP in back-to-back years. I am happy to hear that he will be able to compete as a two-way player in the field and on the mound at JMU.”

Christopher Southard – Montgomery County Community College (Baseball)
Reasons for choosing Montco: “I was looking at a couple of D3 small schools, but I chose Montco because I’ll have two extra years of eligibility.”
Coach Mike Childs: “Chris was probably one of our most improved players from last year to this year. He does a great job of throwing strikes and keeping hitters off-balance. I can see him throwing a lot of innings in college and helping his team in middle relief.”
