The Bensalem Owls opened the 2025 season with a win. The Owls defeated William Tennent 2-0 on a beautiful first day of field hockey. Bensalem started the scoring at the 7:29 mark of the first quarter off of one of their 16 corners of the day. Veronica Lennon collected an insertion from forward Chloe Masciantonio, sent a shot on net which Masciantonio converted for the Owls first score of the year. In the Third quarter, Mollie Reilly finished the scoring with a nice backhand from the right side, off of a feed from sophomore Reese Sayers. It was Sayers first Varsity point. Overall, the team played well today forcing 16 corners. The forwards did a great job creating oportunities, the midfield controlled the middle of the field, led by Veronica Lennon and Paige Dando, and the defense of Lucciana Krecko, Abby Cheung, and Lexi Hartman was outstanding. Hailey Fricke, who had 10 shutouts while on Junior Varsity last year, started this season off in the same manner. While she didnt have much work to do today, she's had an incredible start to her Varsity career through this preseason.
