It was our first night game of the season, and it proved to be a hard-fought battle from start to finish. The game remained scoreless until Upper Perk capitalized on a corner with 3:33 left in regulation play, when Burgundy Gahman found the back of the cage.
Goalkeepers Anna Haberle and Darcy Baxter combined for an impressive 18 saves, keeping us in the game until the very end. On the defensive end, Penny Longacre and Cameron Landis anchored the back line with relentless effort. Although we haven’t gotten off to the start we hoped for, we know the effort and hard work we’ve been putting in will pay off as the season moves forward.
