PISCATAWAY, NJ, June 2, 2009 --- Neshaminy High School Head Football Coach Mark Schmidt will take the sidelines this Sunday, June 7, alongside former NFL Quarterback Joe Theisman when the 12th Annual New Jersey-Northeast All-Star Classic kicks off at 3pm at Rutgers University Stadium.
Schmidt, who has led the Neshaminy Redskins to a state championship and numerous league and district honors, will serve as offensive line coach for the Northeast team, while Theisman will take the reigns as head coach. Several other high school coaches will assist Theisman at different positions for the Northeast, which will square off against a New Jersey state all-star team coached by former Giants Quarterback Phil Simms.
The Northeast team is comprised of high school players living in New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware and Southeastern Pennsylvania. Participating players from the Philadelphia area include Neshaminy’s Jay Colbert (DE) and Dian Shirey (OL); Cody Meuller (DE) of Souderton; Justin Pugh (OL) of Council Rock South; Brandon Heath (OL) of West Chester Henderson; Brandon McManus (PK) of North Penn; and Kadeem Curtis (DL) of St. John Neumann.
