SuburbanOneSports.com is recognizing a male and female athlete each week. The awards, sponsored by Univest, are given to seniors of good character who are students in good standing that have made significant contributions to their teams. Selections are based on nominations received from coaches, athletic directors and administrators.
Univest’s SuburbanOneSports.com Featured Female Athlete (Week of March 1)
Christie Graf is a member of Upper Moreland’s tennis, basketball and soccer teams. An outstanding student, Graf is ranked in the top 10 in her class and received distinguished honors every year since middle school. Graf is also a natural leader. She was president of her school’s Key Club for the past two years and is captain of the tennis, basketball and soccer teams. “You can totally count on her and trust her,” basketball coach Jane Meade said. “She just has a wonderful attitude. She was always very coachable and is a great kid. She’s respectful and just a hard worker.”
A member of the National Honor, Graf will attend Lebanon Valley College next year where she will major in secondary math education.

Univest’s SuburbanOneSports.com Featured Male Athlete (Week of March 1)
Nick Christian was a captain of Bensalem’s basketball team. A three-year varsity player, Christian was the undisputed leader of an Owls’ squad that was 15-10 and earned a district playoff berth. He is being recruited to play at the collegiate level, but his legacy goes well beyond his accomplishments on the court and includes the many young lives he has touched as a coach in the Bensalem Police League. “Nick is a consummate leader,” coach John Mullin said. “He’s a great kid. Whatever he does he’ll be successful because he has the ability to lead in any setting.”
Christian, who has been accepted at West Point, is uncertain where he will be attending college, but he hopes to pursue a career in law enforcement.
