Council Rock North 15, Central Bucks East 7
Sophomore Hannah Plappert scored six goals and surpassed the 100-goal plateau for the Indians. Kara Magley added five goals. Molly Doyle contributed the hat trick while Erica Green added a single goal to close out the scoring for the Indians, who were without Lindsay Rheiner.
“I was proud of them,” coach Pat Toner said. “They came off a tough loss. East is a strong team, and we were able to beat them without one of our top players.”
Central Bucks West 13, Plymouth Whitemarsh 6
The Bucks jumped out to a 6-2 halftime lead and never looked back on their way to the decisive non-league win.
A key to the win, according to coach Tara Schmucker, was early draw controls.
“We are a young team, so our transitions are starting to connect, and the offense certainly looked more fluid than in previous games,” West’s coach said. “Our defense was led by Trish Kilgannon and Christy Grezesak, who came out strong and intense.
“Amanda Parker had an excellent game with five caused turnovers and was 3-for-3 on shots. Tori Ueland also played well with four draw controls and four caused turnovers on PW’s clears. We have not had many wins this year, but the girls are still improving every game.”
Parker and Tori Ueland both connected for the hat trick to lead the Bucks. Ueland also had an assist. Steph Cooper, Jeanmarie Campbell and Julie Kopperman each added two goals. Jan Savard had one goal and one assist.
For the Colonials, Meg McCollough had four goals while Amy Powell and Mollie Getzfred (one assist) both added a single goal.
Sammi Hogan and Maggie Brennan each had two saves in goal for the Bucks while PW’s Jordyn Dunacusky turned away seven shots.
Souderton 19, Spring-Ford 8
The Indians raced to a 14-3 halftime lead on their way to the convincing non-league win.
Sophomore Liz Mower scored five goals and handed out four assists to lead a balanced attack that saw eight players get their names in the scoring column. Danielle Notvest added four goals and an assist while Lindsay Walbrandt had three goals and one assist. Haley Kershaw scored two goals while Melinda Wojt and Carly Kendall both had one goal and one assist. Jenna Hayes and Madison Trout both added single goals to close out the scoring.
