Lower Merion 11, Central Bucks East 10
The Aces edged the Patriots by a single goal in Friday’s fifth place game in the District One AAA Tournament.
East actually led 4-2 at the end of one quarter but found itself on the short end of a 7-6 score at halftime when the game was suspended because of storms on Thursday. When play resumed on Friday, the Patriots rallied to knot the score 8-8 at the end of three periods, but the Aces held a 3-2 edge in the final quarter to earn the win.
Brendan Coleman led the Patriots with four goals while Conor McSherry had two goals and one assist. Parker Rushworth, Parker Self, Warren Kuhn and Rob Ferrall each had one goal. Matt Brodzik and Chris Vetter both contributed an assist.
Goalie Harrison Holak turned away five shots.
