WARRINGTON -   The drought is over – for Central Bucks West.

“It has been 2,211 days since Central Bucks West beat Central Bucks South in football,” smiled West quarterback Ward Udinski after his Bucks (4-1, 1-1) gouged South (2-3, 0-2) – 49-7 – at Titan Field. “And like coach (Brian Hensel) said, the drought is over.

“We felt like there were certain things that we could attack against their defense,” understated Udinski as CB West scored on every offensive possession of the game. “Tonight they just couldn’t stop us.”

CB South head coach Dave Rackovan agreed.

“We weren’t able to stop the run,” said Rackovan as the Bucks raced for 373 yards of rushing offense and six touchdowns. “And I thought their quarterback (Udinski) was exceptional.”

Udinski completed just six passes, but the talented senior fired a gorgeous 28-yard touchdown pass to Bill Bell and passed for 144 yards. Bell made two wonderful catches in his four receptions for 88 yards.

“I knew all the way that I was going to make that catch in the end zone,” said Bell who stands 6-foot, 4 inches and out jumped his defender for the ball. “Ward put it in a place where only I was going to be able to catch it.”

However, it was the punishing West ground attack that drove the Titans into submission.

Rashaad Williams blistered the South defense for 196 yards on 20 carries. Included in that total were spectacular runs of 96 and 35 yards.

“The line was blocking real well again tonight, and that was the longest TD run I have ever had,” said Williams. “This was a big game for us, and we came into it really pumped up.”

CB West scored on its first possession – a backbreaking 14-play, 70-yard scoring drive. Jake Poeske capped the drive with an eight-yard bolt through the heart of the Titan defense.

Conor Edwards booted what proved to be the first of his seven consecutive extra points.

The second Buck touchdown run was set up by a sensational 28-yard pass from Udinski to Bell. Poeske again earned scoring honors on a 20-yard touchdown run.

West expanded the lead to 21-0 on the first play of the second period. Williams showed his game-breaking speed as he jetted 96 yards for the score.

West featured its final scoring drive of the half as the Bucks traveled 80 yards on 13 plays – all running plays - for the touchdown. Udinski – who broke off a 30-yard run in the march – capped the drive with a one-yard sneak on fourth down to give West a 28-0 lead at intermission.

South pieced together its only scoring drive of the game on its first possession of the second half.

Senior Ben Torres cracked the goal line from the one-yard line to conclude six-play drive. DJ Wenzke booted the extra point to close the gap to 28-7.

West answered quickly as Udinski floated his touchdown pass to Bell. Udinski opened the drive with a beautiful 24-yard pass to Max Stella.

West scored 14 points in the final period to create a mercy-rule contest.

Williams darted in from the 35-yard line, and Sherrod Higginbotham scored on a four-yard blast to make the score final at 49-7.

“Last week I told the kids that (Souderton head coach) Ed Gallagher out coached me,” said Hensel in reference to the Bucks 34-24 loss to the Indians. “I challenged them to play better, and I challenged myself to coach better.”

The challenges were answered – and the drought is over.
