National Conference KickNWear Player of the Week

Sean Sheridan – Senior midfielder from Neshaminy.

Notable Accomplishment:
Sean Sheridan led Neshaminy to a very successful week, during which they attained a marquis win over Council Rock North. He had a goal and an assist against Harry S. Truman to begin the week and also tallied a PK goal in their 2-1 win over CR North. Sheridan brings a high level of both tactical and technical skills to his team and is a calming influence in Neshaminy’s midfield.

Note from the Coach:
“I could play Sean in any position on the field and he would fit in comfortably. He has embraced the role of being a captain,” says his coach, Rich Reice.

About Sean:
Favorite professional soccer player: Paul Scholes
Best soccer memory: The Nike Manchester United Premier Cup at Nike World Headquarters in Oregon.
Part of the game I enjoy most: Scoring goals and winning
My role models are: My dad and my brother
Musical artist that gets me pumped before games: Whatever I'm in the mood for
Chocolate or vanilla:  Vanilla

Continental Conference KickNWear Player of the Week

Ryan New – Junior forward from Hatboro-Horsham.

Notable Accomplishment:
While New did not get on the score sheet with any goals last week, he was definitely the driving force behind the Hatters’ attack in their three wins over CB South, North Penn and William Tennent. He is consistently the focus of the opposing team’s defenses, but his constant work rate creates opportunities for his teammates as well. In the William Tennent game, he had one assist and was pulled down in the box creating a penalty kick for Hatboro-Horsham’s third goal.

Note from the Coach:
According to head coach, Kyle McGrath: "Ryan is a great leader at practice, in the weight room, and also in the classroom. His work on and off the field is a great example for the younger players in our program. Ryan never needs to be reminded to work hard at anything he does."

About Ryan:
Favorite professional soccer player: Wayne Rooney
Best soccer memory: Playing varsity as a freshman with my older brother Sean
Part of the game I enjoy most: Winning a close game in our conference
My role models are: Dad and brother
Musical artist that gets me pumped before games: Linkin Park
Chocolate or vanilla: Vanilla

American Conference KickNWear Player of the Week

Stephen Barlow – Senior midfielder from Plymouth Whitemarsh

Notable Accomplishment:
Barlow is a first-year varsity player who has made an immediate impact on his squad with his outstanding leadership qualities. A senior captain and standout defender, he recently moved from sweeper to center mid to give the Colonials additional offensive firepower coming down the home stretch of the season.

Note from the Coach:
“Stephen’s major contribution is his overall leadership,” coach Devon Landgraff said. “His leadership is just overwhelming. Everybody looks up to him. His technical skill, his speed and his voice out on the field – you just can’t find it every season. We moved him to center mid because he’s really someone who can provide that extra lift offensively and will help us hopefully put in a couple more goals and win a few more games in the backstretch of the schedule.”

About Stephen:
Favorite professional soccer player: Lionel Messi because of his motivation to succeed, despite being told he was too small to make it professionally as a child.
Best soccer memory: Scoring a goal from a 40-yard free kick in a travel soccer game
Part of the game I enjoy most: The feeling of freedom I am instilled with while playing. It’s almost like an unbound creativity.
My role model is: Roberto Clemente is my role model because of his ability to balance being both a professional athlete and an outstanding citizen
Vanilla or chocolate: Vanilla
