Sterling Limousine Offensive Co-Players of the Game
Anthony Williams – Upper Dublin
Whenever the Flying Cardinals needed tough yardage, they handed the ball to Williams. A workhorse in the backfield for the Flying Cardinals, the senior running back carried the ball 27 times for 65 tough yards. Williams had touchdown runs of two and four yards.

Coach Bret Stover says: “Anthony only had 65 yards, but that was the hardest we have seen him run ever. It was the hardest 65 yards he’s ever gotten, and part of the reason is we’re inexperienced up front. He got three or four yards at a crack that put us in manageable third downs and second downs. To us, that’s an intangible. It doesn’t show up in the boxscore, but it shows up for the team.”

Russhon Phillips – Plymouth Whitemarsh
The Colonials’ junior quarterback had six pass plays of 30 yards or more and finished the game with 246 passing yards. He singlehandedly kept the Colonials in a game the Flying Cardinals led from the second quarter until the final whistle.

Coach Dan Chang says: “Russhon is one of our best players. He’s an ideal kid to have on the team. He’s a very bright kid, he’s very athletic, and he can throw the ball. He did a good job making plays when we needed to make plays.”

Rich Orth – Upper Dublin
The senior cornerback came up with a key interception early in the second half of Friday’s showdown against PW and ran it back 41 yards to the Colonials’ two-yard line, setting up an Anthony Williams TD run that put the Flying Cardinals on top 20-10. He also came up with a big stop on a fake punt by PW in the third quarter. Orth – who returned to the team after opting to sit out last season - had seven tackles. He also broke up four passes - all in the second half. On the offensive side of the football, Orth had five receptions for 90 yards

Coach Bret Stover says: “Rich is flat out a playmaker who seems like he’s always in the right place at the right time. Most people if they took a year off, it would take them awhile to get back, but he has been in stride from summer camp. We were blown away by it. We didn’t think he would be able to do it because most kids can’t.  It’s a tribute to him and the kind of athlete he is.

“Going into the season, we really didn’t know what we had with him because we really hadn’t penciled him in to help us on both sides of the ball. Here he is a two-way starter and kind of the shutdown guy on defense and one of our great playmakers on offense.”
