Devon Redilla made a lot of sacrifices to play the sport she loves. The North Penn senior – who gave up travel soccer and youth orchestra - hasn’t regretted anything she may have given up to pursue her volleyball career. Redilla was recently named the SOL Continental Conference Player of the Year, and the Maidens’ senior captain is being recruited to play volleyball at the collegiate level.  “She has improved a different aspect of her game every year,” North Penn coach Bryan Yost said. “She has an incredible work ethic. She knew what she had to work on to become a better player, and she did it. She just worked and worked.”
Best of all, Redilla is still able to enjoy music, thanks to the Comprehensive Music Technology class she is enrolled in at school. The class affords her an opportunity to continue playing the violin, and she will be performing in the upcoming winter concert.
A three-year varsity starter in volleyball, she was the Maidens’ MVP and led her team in kills and was second in digs. “She didn’t really have the best defense (when she came on board), but she went out and worked on her defense,” said Yost. “She came back as a junior and played all the way around for us. She probably became a defender good enough to be a libero in college, and she still was a powerhouse at the net.”
Interestingly, Redilla is being recruited to play defense at West Chester, which joins York on the short list of colleges the Maiden senior is considering.
A member of the National Honor Society, Redilla – who plans to major in nursing – takes a full course load of honors classes and is in the top 15 percent of her class.

Univest’s SuburbanOneSports.com Featured Male Athlete (Week of Nov. 30, 2010)
Nick Chilson was the captain of Central Bucks East’s football team under first-year coach John Donnelly. “It was really imperative to find leadership to be examples of what we wanted our program to become in a short amount of time,” Donnelly said. “Nick Chilson is clearly one of those guys. He’s the epitome of the student-athlete. He’s heavily involved in the school. He’s a clever kid, and he’s well liked by the faculty.”
A member of the school’s governing body, Chilson was a natural choice for captain. Beyond the leadership he brought to the team, Chilson was on the field for just about every down for the Patriots this season. “His work ethic is tremendous, and he was very unselfish,” Donnelly said. “He was on every special team except one. He was one of those guys who was willing to do anything and everything.” Chilson – who averaged 7.3 yards a carry and was third on the team with 50 tackles - was part of a group of seniors that helped lay the foundation for the future of the program under Donnelly.
Chilson also competes for the track and field team where he runs the 400 and pole vaults.
Competing in sports is just one small aspect of Chilson’s life. A member of the National Honor Society and National French Honor Society, the East senior is an excellent student with an affinity for math and science. He recently scored a perfect 800 on the math portion of the SAT test.
Chilson is planning to pursue an engineering major. One of the schools at the top of his list is Carnegie-Melon, which is interested in his football talents as well.
