Bizzy Millen is a swimmer who excels in every event in the pool. At districts last year, the Council Rock North senior swam in two freestyle relays and also competed in the 100 butterfly and the 500 freestyle and qualified for states in all four. Millen placed seventh in states in the 500. Both relays – the 200 and 400 freestyle – finished fifth and also made NISCA High School All-American. “She’s swum anywhere and everywhere in the lineup for the last three-plus years,” coach Ted Schueller said. “Every year I always (need) certain strokes or events, and (I’ll say), ‘Bizzy, I need you to do this.’ She just does it.” Millen has won every event she’s competed in so far this season.
Besides being an elite swimmer, Millen, who ran cross country last fall, is an exceptional student. She is ranked in the top 10 percent of her class at Council Rock North. She is a member of the National Honor Society and the Science Honor Society and was past president of the Latin Honor Society. She also volunteers her time in the community and has been a candy striper the past three summers.
Next year, Millen will attend the prestigious University of Chicago. She is undecided on a major but is considering economics.

Univest’s SuburbanOneSports.com Featured Male Athlete (Week of Jan. 9, 2011)
Scott Shields is a senior captain of the Central Bucks East basketball team. A tenacious rebounder who does the dirty work, Shields’ impact goes well beyond the points he puts on the board. “He’s our glue,” coach Erik Henrysen said. “I think Scott set the tone where he just has one goal, and it’s to win. He’s going to do whatever it takes. That was one of the biggest pieces – just his presence.” Shields is a positive leader for East. “It’s not a verbal thing with Scott,” Henrysen said. “He leads by example. He’s not going out and saying, ‘This is what we need to do,’ but yet he shows everybody what they need to do, and he can also back it up. He has all his ducks in a row. He gets it.”
A three-year varsity player on the football team, Shields played tight end, outside linebacker and was a long snapper. He caught the winning touchdown in East’s overtime win over Abington. “In both basketball and football, Scotty always does the little things – the things that sometimes go unnoticed but are instrumental in helping the team win,” coach John Donnelly said. “He really enjoys life and soaks up the high school experience. I truly enjoyed coaching him.”
A member of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America, Shields also excels in the classroom. He plans to major in business with an interest in finance/banking, although he has not decided on a college.
