National ConferenceCouncil Rock South 47, Abington 22
Even with a bunch of starters out of the lineup recovering from illness or injury, the Golden Hawks soared past Abington as they recorded five falls.
Billy Rappo (103), Mack Moore (125), Matt Rappo (140), Tom Trampe (189) and Tom Dingui (285) pinned for C.R. South.
Abington’s lone fall came from Taylor Santos at 135. Russell Inverso majored at 152 and Max Greenburg won by decision at 160.
Neshaminy 42, Bensalem 23
Nick Russell celebrated his 100th win with a technical fall, but the highlight match came at 135 where the Redskins’ Colby Lederer lost to Nick Lippincott 4-2 in overtime.
Bensalem also came out on top in a couple of other good matchups with Mike Pritchard defeating Harry Wilson, 5-0 and Anthony Prisco blanking Joe Simcox, 6-0.
Wrestling well for Neshaminy were Ryan O’Connor (119), Brendan Hastings (145), Tyler Stevens (189) and Christian Chatereski (215).
“It was a good night,” said Neshaminy coach Dan Winter. “They had a 23-6 lead and we steamrolled back.”
Council Rock North 38, Pennsbury 27
The Indians led the whole way, but Pennsbury made it interesting with some late pins.
As fan interest goes, the best match came last when Pennsbury’s undefeated Josh DiSanto met the Indians’ John Dutrow in a re-match of last year’s regional finals. DiSanto won last year 10-4, but this time caught Dutrow and pinned him in 45 seconds.
“He went right after him,” said Pennsbury coach Joe Kiefer.
A key match for the Indians came at 215 where Brendon Poff with a record of 3-15 faced the Falcons’ Josh Caven, who was 17-1.
Records didn’t mean much in that bout as Poff edged Caven 2-1.
But the Falcons got a couple of quick falls from Anthony DiEmidio at 112 and Colin Cornman at 171.
Harry S Truman 35, William Tennent 34
(Truman wins on eighth criteria-most first takedowns)
The match came down to the last bout at 112. Tennent was leading 34-31 but Truman’s Onorio Valez won by decision to tie the score.
Dan Balek also put in a good effort for the Tigers, defeating Ed Kwait, 3-2.
Sean Stefanelli (171) and Brendan Shirley (215) pinned for the Panthers and freshman Rich Strain (189) majored.
Continental Conference
Souderton 33, Quakertown 25
Starting at the heart of their lineup at 135, the Panthers jumped out to a 15-0 lead, but Souderton roared back in the upper weights and hung on to win. Joe McNamara dropped to 215 and won a close match, while Joe Stolfi bumped up to heavyweight and pinned in the third period.
The Indians also got key wins in close decisions from Gregg Donley at 119 and John Prado at 152. Prado had only won two or three matches all year, according to coach Stan Smith.
“It was a well-wrestled match on both sides,” said Smith.

Pennridge 44, Hatboro-Horsham 24
The Rams racked up four falls but none was more important than Chris Pyott’s first period pin at 215. Pennridge led 34-18 heading into the third to last match. Hatboro forfeited 189 and bumped up to 215, but Pyott responded with a first period pin that iced the match.
Then Rams also received pins from Ben Ross (112), Dylan Moore (152) and Richie Jasinski (160). Colin Crouthamel also came up with a key decision at 140.
“It was the first time this year we had our full lineup,” noted Pennridge assistant R.P. Norley.
Central Bucks East 53, Central Bucks West 17
The highlight of the night came at 145 when East’s Nick Dau tried to upset the Bucks’ state medalist Seth Ehlo. He almost did as Ehlo gave up a stalling point late in the third period to make it a 2-2 match. But Ehlo got the takedown in overtime for the win.
American Conference
Upper Moreland 31, Wissahickon 25
It was touch and go all the way through the match. Heading into the last match at 112, Upper Moreland led by just 28-25. Freshman Tommy Lloyd came through despite being tired to edge Nick Christian 4-2 to clinch the victory for the Bears.
“It was a very exciting match,” said Upper Moreland coach Dave Bolich. “When we were outmatched, we didn’t give up bonus points, and we got them when we needed them. It was a good team effort.”
The Trojans received pins from Sean Saunders (140) and Paul Wisloski (171).
“We got every matchup we wanted,” said Wissahickon coach Anthony Stagliano. “We just couldn’t pull it out at the end. Everybody gave a great effort. I’m proud of our guys.”

The Colonials led 39-30 heading into the final two bouts at 215 and 285.
Cheltenham’s Orvin Liburd won by decision and heavyweight Emmanuel Rose pinned to knot the score.
For the Colonials 119-pounder Bryan Shaffer and 130-pounder Earl Reis won their first varsity matches.
Justin Staudenmayer, Lucas Wisniewski and John Michael Staudenmayer recorded pins for PW.
Norristown 42, Upper Dublin 27
Eight of 14 bouts were decided by pins.
For Upper Dublin, Joe Fisher (112), Steve Volovar (125) and Nick DiMuzio (130) recorded falls.
Norristown won the pin pool with five. Gavin Queenan (285), Zach Fuentes (103), Tyree Gardner (119), Mike Springer (140) and Brandon Parker (152) all racked up six points for the Eagles.
