Major: Undecided
Final list of colleges: St. Joe’s, LaSalle, Bloomsburg, West Chester
Reasons for choosing St. Joe’s: “I went to St. Joe’s over the summer a few times, and I just fell in love with it. I just liked the whole setting – the feeling of the campus. It kind of hit me right away. The coaches were really nice, and when I went for my official visit, the kids were great. I sat in on a class. I just loved everything about it.”
When did you start thinking about the possibility of playing baseball at the collegiate level? “When I was little, I wasn’t that good at baseball, and I actually wanted to quit, but my dad forced me to keep playing. I worked really hard, and I got better at it. I was captain of my ninth grade middle school team, and I started thinking – maybe I can actually go somewhere with this. I kept going and played on teams that traveled, and by high school, I started as a sophomore. From there, I was thinking, I can do this.”
Coach Kyle Dennis says: “He can do everything well for you. He’s an exceptional athlete. He runs, throws and hits very well. He’s a great leader on the team. He’s a pretty special player.
“He will be a three-year starter in center field. He has great range. We have a very large center field, and he covers a lot of ground out there. He’s come down with more than a handful of balls that I don’t think a lot of high school outfielders could catch. He’s a very good hitter. He’s kind of a mix between power and consistency. He led our team in batting average, and this year I think he might hit for a little more power. He’s just very, very consistent at the plate.”
