VARSITY GIRLS: Abington: 4 Girls, 1 Boy, Game 3 Forfeit= Plymouth Whitemarsh Sweeps by 1,062

NORRISTOWN(PA)-  The originally scheduled Abington at Plymouth Whitemarsh boys and Girls bowling match for January 26,2011, was made-up on Thursday February 3,2011. Due to the make-up, Abington arrived with only ten bowlers- 6 boys and 4 girls. In fact, Abington's head coach approached Abington boy bowler Dan Chang (not the Plymouth Whitemarsh head football coach named Dan Chang) with some interesting news.
" Dan, I have some good news and bad news," stated Abington's coach." The good news is that you're bowling on varsity, but for girls' varsity."
In their first girls bowling meeting in December 2010, Abington swept the lady Colonials, 0-4, at Thunderbird Willow Grove. What is additionally intriguing involves the fact that Plymouth Whitemarsh used ten bowlers, including four who made their varsity debuts (during that away match).
However, this February 3,2011, match, saw only four of Abington's total girl bowlers. Plymouth Whitemarsh, fully took advantage, and this time swept the visiting Lady Ghosts, 0-4 (1,121-2,183). Moreover, the Lady Ghosts actually forfeited the third game, which allowed PW to allow six bowlers to roll on their own.
Sam Dowdy led the lady Ghosts in Abington's two games, 158 and 143, resulting in a series of 301. Chang rolled 122 and 147 for a 269 series.
Plymouth Whitemarsh junior Jaela Levin, who rolled her first game three frames on Junior Varsity, moved to varsity to occupy a vacant spot. Lady Colonials' senior Lauren Enslin achieved the highest match series of 546, with scores of 169,187, and 190.
Two matches remain in the 2010-2011 regular season for Plymouth Whitemarsh: Monday February 7,2011, home (Facenda Whitaker) against Norristown, and Wednesday February 9,2011, away (Thunderbird Willow Grove) at Upper Dublin.
