PW's  2011 SOL Bowling Championships - 02/16/2011

The 2010-2011 bowling season for the boys and girls from Plymouth Whitemarsh High School had a season that was down from the previous season. The PW boys fell from Suburban One Amer/Cont 2009-2010 co-champs to 30-26 and 6th place in 2010-2011. The Lady Colonials significantly struggled in 2010-2011 with around a .500 record, one season removed from third place in the division.
On this Wednesday 16 February 2011, seven boys and seven girls represented PW in the 2011 SOL Bowling Championships at Feasterville's Brunswick Zone XL. Unfortunately, all fourteen PW representatives failed to achieve 600+ series, and Lauren Enslin was the only Lady Colonial to record a series over 400 with 473 with 157-157-159. The PW boys were led by junior Julius Selfinger with a 558 series, two pins higher than senior teammate Pat Galleo (556). PW senior Martin Weiss struggled to have the pins fall on command, scoring 150, 112, and 135 for a 397 series to finish a fantastic improving three-season bowling career at PW.
Although the Colonials did not post intriguing results, North Penn's Kyle Transue in his game 2 had eleven consecutive strikes; he missed the 6 pin in the last frame for 299, which is the highest individual bowling score recorded by a Suburban One Amer/Con bowler in 2010-2011.
