CB East's Kuhn to Play Lax at Air Force

Central Bucks East senior midfielder Warren Kuhn has made a commitment to play Division I lacrosse at the Air Force Academy.
Kuhn was a key contributor in 2010 for the Patriots, helping them share the Suburban One Continental Conference championship with Hatboro-Horsham while reaching the state playoffs as the sixth seed out of District 1. Kuhn plays club lacrosse for Select.

Kuhn’s commitment to Air Force is one of a remarkable number of Philly commitments to the academy in Colorado Springs, Co. He joins fellow East middie Brenden Coleman and three other Philly seniors – defenseman Alex Warden (Garnet Valley) and Ryan Crane (Germantown Academy) and Malvern Prep midfielder Keith Dreyer – as Air Force recruits.
Kuhn and Coleman are two of five East seniors to commit to Division I colleges and two of four to commit to military academies. Earlier, face-off specialist Sean Reilly committed to Navy and midfielder Ryan Whitney committed to Army. A fifth East senior, defenseman Weston French, has committed to Division I Siena.
Kuhn, a member of the National Honors Society, plans to major in Engineering.
“It’s always been kind of my goals to get into the military one way or another,” he said. “I have family ties with the Army and I always wanted to keep my options open with other service academies.
“After visiting Air Force this summer and learning about the career opportunities, I realized it was the best decision for me.”
Kuhn also loved the setting in Colorado Springs.
“It’s a beautiful area and only an hour away from Denver,” he said. “You have the big city right there. Also, the campus is kind of secluded and you’re right in the middle of the Rockies.”
Kuhn, who played in the adidas Lacrosse Classic in 2009, is enthused about CB East’s potential in 2011.
“I am really excited for the season,” he said. “We have a lot of good players coming back; a lot of upperclassmen and a lot also in the lower classes. Also, we have a lot of good coaches that know the game.”
