Hatboro-Horsham senior defender Hannah Vogel has signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division II lacrosse at Millersville University.
Hatboro-Horsham's Hannah Vogel has signed with Millersville
Vogel was an Honorable Mention Suburban One Continental Conference pick last year for the Hatters, who went 13-5 and advanced to the second round of the District 1 tournament. She plays club lacrosse for the Phantastix.
Vogel, who also plays field hockey, plans to major in Elementary Education
“I like working with kids and my sister (Madison) is a teacher now and my two brothers (Brandon and Marshall) are in school studying to become teachers,” she said. “When I went to Millersville, I really clicked with the team.”
Vogel said the 2010 season was special because the Hatters were vastly improved and saw the return of coach Marie Schmucker, who had missed the previous two seasons while fighting breast cancer. Hatboro-Horsham then defeated Council Rock North in the first round of district to avenge an early-season defeat.
“Two years ago we didn’t have coach Schmucker and we didn’t do well,” Vogel said. “Last year we were all pumped up for her return and we had a good senior class.
“We lost to Council Rock North during the regular season, but we were really psyched to play them again. We knew we could beat them.”
