Neshaminy 9, Conwell Egan 1
Shane Quinn had two goals and three assists to lead the Redskins to the non-league victory. Jimmy Roessener and Alex McKenzie each added a pair of goals while Roessener also had an assist. Andy MacDonald added a single goal.
Connor Bishop added a pair of assists, and Austin Marshall – who turned away 11 shots in goal – also had an assist.
Conwell Egan’s Matt McKenna scored with six seconds remaining to ruin the Redskins’ shutout bid.
Upper Merion 8, Upper Dublin 7
Trevor Kupecky contributed one goal and three assists while Wes McDowell and Luc Minnich each contributed a pair of goals. Minnich also had an assist. Robby Boyk (one assist), Loran DaCosta and goalie Conor Crowe each added single goals for the Vikings in the tightly-contested contest.
Council Rock North 11, Central Bucks South 5
Rock North was led by the six-goal effort of Tyler Shablin while Chris Gifford added one goal and four assists. Mike Demsko and Bryan Attanasio each had one goal and one assist. Brian Fitzpatrick and Joe Earley also scored for the Indians.
Goalie Mark McDonald turned away 11 shots for the Indians.
Downingtown West 11, Wissahickon 2
The Trojans trailed just 2-1 at the end of one quarter, but the Whippets outscored the Trojans 9-1 the rest of the way on the way to the win.
Christian McCaffrey and Tyler Crothers each scored a goal for the Trojans. Peter Carrozza was credited with five saves.
The Trojans are starting the 2010-11 season with three returning varsity starters out due to injury.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 16, Archbishop Wood 6
Griffen Kelly scored five goals and Colin Joka had four in the Colonials' big opening day win. Dylan Wixted and Nick Swift each added two goals while single goals were contributed by Andrew Cox, Corey Kelly and John Walker. Swift also had three assists while Cox and Wixted had two each.
Defensively, Kelly was the leader with four ground balls. Wixted, Swift and Craig Lowery each had three.
PW won 19 face-offs and lost only two.
Harry S. Truman 6, Norristown 2
The Eagles received single goals from Jake Naseef and Jesse Prante in the loss.
