Pennridge 3, Souderton 0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-12)
In a battle of unbeaten squads in Continental Conference play, the defending champion Rams had the upper hand, sweeping the Indians in three straight.
Senior captain Jake Braun led the defense with 15 digs. Setter Matt Trumbower had 32 assists to go along with three aces and four blocks. Derek Kemmerer led a balanced attack with nine kills. He also had eight digs. Erik Moyer added eight kills and eight blocks while Kalin Nelson had five kills and nine digs. Matt Beck had five kills.
For the Indians, Chris Kluka had seven kills and Trevor Bishop, six kills. Christian Benner led the defense with 27 digs.
The Rams, who are 5-0, will travel to North Penn on Monday to face a Knight squad that has not lost in conference play. The Indians fell to 3-1 in league play (4-1 overall).
Quakertown 3, Upper Dublin 0 (25-10, 25-23, 25-23)
Setter Nate Stout handed out 25 assists while Zach Morgan once again led the Panthers’ offense, delivering 15 kills. Ryan Mease had seven kills, and Ian Jones added five. Nick Grossove had four kills and Mitch Bard, three kills.
For Upper Dublin, senior Jordan Walden had a team-high nine kills while Avery Jackson had eight. Jackson also had seven blocks, and senior Curtis Carter had six blocks. Setter Dave An had 18 assists to go along with eight digs while Brian Day had two aces and four points off serve. According to coach Matt Ehlers, junior Jino Park as well as Walden helped solidify the passing game with accurate passes off serve and timely digs.
"We came out very flat in the first set and didn't play our best volleyball but did seem to improve as the night went on," Ehlers said. "Our team continues to struggle with falling behind and continually playing catch-up to our opponents."
Neshaminy 3, Council Rock South 0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-11)
Ryan Rodel led the Redskins with 15 kills while Kody Naylor had nine kills. Munir Bouzid had 30 assists, and Anthony Kirk led the defense with 23 digs.
William Tennent 3, Bensalem 1 (25-15, 25-16, 24-26, 25-17)
Kenny Rauchut led the Panthers with 16 kills while Logan Cloak and Zac Puglisi both finished with 10 kills.
For the Owls, Sheel Patel had seven kills while Erik Settelen had six kills. Setter Rikesh Patel had 19 assists.
The Panthers are 2-1 in league play (3-2 overall).
Central Bucks East 3, Central Bucks South 0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-12)
Michael Donovan led the Patriots on defense with 17 digs. Nick Bennett had eight kills, and setter Kyle Dolf collected 20 assists and three blocks.
For the Titans, Steven Grant contributed eight kills, seven digs and one ace. Jim Delgato had five kills and one block. Joey Whalen led the way defensively with 18 digs while Alex Vogel added 12 digs.
