Neshaminy Participates in Sports Block Party

Sports Block Party

Friday May 6, 2011 3:30-10:00PM
Middletown Community Park, 2600 Langhorne Yardley Rd, Langhorne, PA
Sponsored by McCafferty Auto Group, Real Living Ramagli Real Estate, Endurance Sports

Middletown is hosting a huge sporting event on Friday May 6 as Neshaminy High School competes against Holy Ghost in baseball, Abington in lacrosse and Tennent in softball.  JV and Varsity teams will compete: 6 games, 1 fantastic night. The Township is also holding a fundraiser for its Veteran’s Memorial Park. It is the goal of the Parks & Recreation Department to maintain that park in a condition worthy of the sacrifice made by those who have served our country.

  • Enjoy music from five live bands: The Hero Campaign, The Neshaminy High School Pep Band, Tony Manfredonia, Tu Vienna, and Rushmore.
  • Interactive inflatables provided by Party Magic for $12 per person.
  • Vintage armed forces vehicles with reenactors.
  • The Philadelphia Wings’ mascot Mad Dog plus Wings’ defender and Holy Ghost alumni Brett Manney will  be on site to throw out the first pitch and sign autographs.
  • Pit Stop Barbecue will be selling its delicious pulled pork sandwiches plus both concession stands will be open to purchase food.
  • Rita’s Water Ice
  • Best Darn Kettle Corn

To raise funds for the Veterans Memorial Park the Township is:
  • Charging $1 per person admission.
  • Selling an event tee shirt for $10. The event tee shirt design work is donated by Neshaminy alumni artist and web designer Alex Searle.
  • Running a Pony Plop – buy a grid for $25 each. Painted Dreams Horse Farm in Wrightstown has donated the horse that walks the soccer field. You win $650 if the horse “plops” in your grid. 2nd place is $350. Buy a 5yd by 5yd grid now by calling the Township at 215.750.3890.
  • Raffling off four tickets to the Philadelphia Union Soccer Game on June 22 vs. Kansas City donated by Langhorne Athletic Association; raffling off a genuine Houston Texans football jersey and a West Virginia football jersey donated by Bristol’s Steve Slaton; raffling off a bicycle donated by Endurance Sports in Yardley.
  • Win a ride to school on a fire truck: the William Penn Fire Department graciously offered to drive the raffle winner to school in their fire truck.
The park will be closed to car traffic. Free parking is available at nearby Neshaminy Maple Point Middle School and then it’s a quick walk to Community Park or Neshaminy school buses will run a shuttle back and forth from 5-10PM. We encourage everyone to stop by for a great night of family fun, high school sports, teen activities, live music and great food.
