Outlook:
“This year’s team has a positive attitude and is willing to work hard. Everyone on the team has bonded and gets along very well. Additionally, ten freshmen came out for the team this year; they have more skill than we’ve seen in a freshman class at Upper Moreland in quite a few years. They are fast learners and they are eager to please.
“Overall, the team is young and most girls lack varsity experience. Additionally, last year we were shut out nine times and only scored 16 goals; while we have some talented forwards and midfielders, we obviously struggle to get the ball in the cage. We lost our top three goal scorers (from last year) to graduation and girls’ soccer; so we hope that new girls can step up on offense.
“As the season continues, we aim to get better with each game. We hope that with positive attitudes and a good work ethic we can improve our game and improve upon last year’s record, hopefully even ending with a winning record.”
Fun fact:
“One third of our team is comprised of freshmen.”
