Sterling Limo Players of the Game (Wk 1)

Sterling Limousine and Transportation Services of Wrightstown is proud to recognize the Players of the Game for the SOL teams that were part of Friday night's SuburbanOneSports.com’s Featured Games.

Council Rock South vs. Central Bucks South

Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Game – Brian Donnelly, Council Rock South
The Golden Hawks’ senior quarterback had an impressive debut, rushing for 180 yards and four touchdowns on 17 carries. At the end of one quarter, Donnelly had already rushed for three touchdowns, and the Golden Hawks led 28-7. He also completed 2-of-5 passes in the game for 40 yards.

Coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Brian has done a great job making the offense his own. He is playing within himself and doing what is asked of him to do. We are really impressed by the maturity and leadership that Brian is displaying on and off the field. We feel real good that Brian has the ball in his hands every time we are on offense.”

Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game – P.J. Gallo, Council Rock South
Gallo – who also plays tight end - led the Golden Hawks’ defense with 10 tackles, four assists and five hurries.

Coach Vince Bedesem says:  “PJ has worked himself into the Division 1 player that he is. He has received a lot of attention from 20 Division 1 programs and has verballed to the University of Maryland. With that being said, he has not stopped working real hard as a player and as a leader of this football team. PJ is one of the hardest working young men I have been around. He is never satisfied with just being good. He wants to get to that next level. PJ might be going to Maryland as a tight end but his defensive end play is outstanding beyond expectations.”

Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game – Anthony Alimenti, Council Rock South
The senior running back repeatedly gave the Golden Hawks good field position with his kickoff returns. It was Alimenti’s big return to the Titans’ 35-yard line that set up Brian Donnelly’s touchdown run on the opening play from the line of scrimmage. He also rushed for 54 yards and caught a pass for 22 yards.

Coach Vince Bedesem says:  “Anthony’s return ability on our kickoff return team has been priceless. The ability to kick start our offense to the next level with great field position is what we are all about. He is a player with many talents – running back, linebacker and a kick returner and, on occasions, a defensive back. Anthony really can do it all. Not to mention his leadership skills, and he is outstanding in the classroom.”

Neshaminy vs. Souderton

Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Game – Joe Bianchino, Neshaminy Bianchino had a memorable debut at starting quarterback for the Redskins, passing for 193 yards and three touchdowns., which included TD passes of 69, 29 and 87 yards.

Coach Mark Schmidt says:  “Joe did a good job. He threw an interception trying to make something happen, but he wasn’t in a position to make that kind of throw. All in all, I thought Joe managed the game pretty well. The throw he made to (Sean) Ulmer (for the second touchdown) was really nice. He had to avoid the rush to get a little more time, and he made a great throw. The other two were timing routes that we have been working on and working on. He hit them where they had to be. He did a nice job running the offense and taking care of the ball. I’m really happy with his first week.”

Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game - Steve Olenski, Neshaminy
Olenski led the Redskins’ defense with four solo tackles and six assists. He also had an interception and broke up a pass.

Coach Mark Schmidt says:  “He has been the whipping boy all during camp. We have been wanting him to be a little more physical, a little more aggressive. He’s a junior – he didn’t letter last year, but he’s a jayvee kid that’s just worked his tail off all offseason. He’s a great kid, and to his credit, he did a nice job in there. He settled down and got things going.”

Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game – Ron Smith, Neshaminy
Smith had a big night on special teams, blocking a point-after attempt and also recovering a fumbled punt. He also had the game-winning 87-yard touchdown reception.

Coach Mark Schmidt says:  “He had a busy day. He’s another one of those guys who lettered last year and was part of it, but I definitely thought Ronnie could give us a little more than what he gave us. This year he’s a senior, and he’s really stepped up. He really comes off the edge, he’s got great speed, and he works hard. He’s really made himself a better player. I’m real happy for him.”
