NORRISTOWN at CENTRAL BUCKS EAST
Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Game – Brandon Shippen, Norristown
The senior running back rushed for a game-high 176 yards and two touchdowns - one of seven yards and the other of 32 yards - in the Eagles’ 36-7 win on Saturday. Shippen will be playing football at Temple University next year.
Coach E.J. Smith says: “We expect big things from Brandon. He’s a very good football player. He’s worked hard in the offseason to be in condition. He’s taken a role also as a leader. He’s working hard at practice, and the hard work he puts in at practice is paying off in the game.”
Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game – Kyle McClure, Norristown
The senior linebacker was a catalyst on a defensive unit that kept CB East’s offense out of rhythm the entire game. Only a late Patriot touchdown separated the Eagles’ from a shutout.
Coach E.J. Smith says: “Kyle has been doing a good job for us at linebacker. He’s understanding what we do, understanding formations and how we’re going to attack, and he does a good job of working hard during the week of practice and understanding what the other team is going to do offensively. They run a lot of no-huddle stuff, so we had to make sure we had the right call on defense so everybody understood what we were doing on defense. Kyle did a good job of doing that.”
Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game – Gerard Fox, Norristown
The Eagles’ placekicker booted field goals of 38 and 22 yards and also kicked three extra points in Norristown’s big win.
Coach E.J. Smith says: “He did an excellent job. He’s a soccer player also. Football is a game of situations, and we work on situational circumstances during practice. So far he’s doing well for us the first two games.”
PENNRIDGE at BENSALEM
Sterling Limousine Offensive Player of the Game – C.J. Lebesco, Bensalem
The senior running back was the leading ground gainer for the Owls, finishing the game with 77 yards and one touchdown
Coach Kevin Kelly says: “He’s obviously been our primary running back through the first two games. He played great in the opening week against Overbrook, and although he had less opportunities in this game, he played really, really well in this game also. We expect him to just continue to get better.”
Sterling Limousine Defensive Player of the Game – Bill Labadie, Bensalem
Labadie is a key contributor on both the offensive and defensive lines for the Owls. The senior lineman was a key to a superb defensive effort by the Owls in their big win over Pennridge.
Coach Kevin Kelly says: “He’s our biggest body in there. We rely on him to really clog up the defensive line and keep people off our linebackers, and he’s done that very well. He made a couple of big stops in the game on Friday, and on top of that, he’s out there playing every snap on the offensive line also. He’s a real key to our team.”
Sterling Limousine Special Teams Player of the Game – Terrence Snetter, Bensalem
Snetter got the ball rolling for the Owls with a 90-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first period of the Owls’ 28-14 win.
Coach Kevin Kelly says: “Terrence was great. On our first offensive series on Friday – I know it’s only the second game, but we got stoned pretty good. We didn’t move the ball at all. I think we lost yardage on the series, and for Terrence to bust that punt return really got everyone going a little bit. We really scuffled that first series, and I think his score gave everybody a little more confidence, and all of us played a little bit better after that. It was a great return.”
