WILLIAM TENNENT 3, NESHAMINY 1 (25-17, 18-25, 25-12, 25-18)
The Panthers came up with the huge win to improve to 4-1 on the league season (5-1 overall).

“We played great again tonight,” Tennent coach Brian Bassler said. “Neshaminy is a tough team with a good amount of talent. They’re well coached, and this was a battle for every point.”

Sophomore Chelsea Gallagher led the Panthers’ service game with four aces while sophomore CC Weir had three aces and also led the defense with 19 digs. Junior Maria Jose Alanis had 11 kills and four blocks to lead the Panthers at the net. Senior Michelle Felix added eight kills and five blocks. Junior Hannah Washam had 29 assists. All told, the Panthers combined for 36 kills and 12 aces while playing standout defense.

The Redskins were led at the net by Amy Paulits with 13 kills to go along with seven digs. Juniors Morgan Oberholtzer and Julia Staub both had solid matches. Oberholtzer had 10 kills, two aces and seven digs while Staub had 29 assists and three kills.

“Tennent outplayed us with tough serves and great defensive adjustments,” coach Kate Livingstone said.
CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 3, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2
The Titans dropped the first two games of Monday’s match but rallied to win the next three in a hard-fought battle of neighboring rivals.

“Giuli Frendak and Jayne Mulhern led the team with amazing leadership throughout every point,” coach Ulana Keer said. “I have not seen this kind of excellence from them, and it was amazing. Their spirit and fire point for point was amazing.”

Frendak had 10 kills, 15 digs and five aces while Mulhern led the defense with strong serve receive passing and defense and, according to Keer, with 40 balls to target.

“Kaitlyn Kushman played extremely well with serving, setting and moving the ball like a craftsman,” Keer said.

The freshman setter had 24 assists to go along with four aces. Lauren Wise had four kills and four blocks. Ally Horvath had two kills.

UPPER MERION 3, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 0 (25-18, 25-16, 25-17)
The Colonials were led defensively by the 17-dig effort of Monica McLenigan. Gigi Jenkins led PW at the net with seven kills to go along witih one ace and 16 digs. Tori Biggins had four aces, nine assists and one dig. Riley Hellings had one ace, 16 assists and five digs. Anna Waltz had two aces, 20 digs and 10 kills in a busy night, and Elizabeth Keefer had two blocks and three kills.

Upper Merion was sparked by its standout service game, led by Mel Ingram with nine aces. She also had 16 digs and five kills. Kendall Gazza had nine kills while Heather Krick had three blocks to lead the Vikings at the net. Cassidy Koenig had eight kills, 14 digs and 18 assists.

PENNRIDGE 3, SOUDERTON 0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-20)
The Indians battled, but the Rams prevailed. Alex Kluka led the Indians at the net with five kills while Hayley Sparks had four and Jen Spause, three kills. Sparks also had an ace. Sam Cressman had 14 assists. Grace Pinto had 11 digs to lead the defense while Megan Miller added 10 digs and Sparks, nine. Kluka had eight digs. Bekah Ford had one stuff block.

“The girls played real scrappy, and their defense was on - few balls hit the ground without some crazy effort on the court,” coach Marlena Musselman said. “However, the girls couldn’t pull together a strong enough offense to put Pennridge away.”

HATBORO-HORSHAM 3, NORRISTOWN 0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-16)
The Hatters used a team effort to defeat the Eagles. Freshman Sam Jones had a strong service game, contributing 13 aces to go along with 22 assists. Carly Black and Lauren Laurcella dominated play offensively with 10 and nine kills respectively. Caitlyn Klotzbach added seven digs, and Kathryn Lucca set in game three, adding eight assists.

PENNSBURY 3, HARRY S TRUMAN 0 (25-14, 25-14, 25-14)
Olivia Aisen led the Falcons with 10 kills, two aces and two blocks. Audrey Stringer added seven kills, four blocks and two aces. Setter Paige Misawic was credited with 23 assists and eight aces.

UPPER DUBLIN 3, WISSAHICKON 0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-12)

In a battle of district heavyweights, the Vikings rebounded from a loss in game one to win three straight games.

“They are a very powerful team and will most likely win the Central League, which they won last year,” coach Tony Funsten said.

Casey Griffith was injured, and freshman Emily Shannon played libero for the Vikings.

“She did very well,” Funsten said.

Kendall Gazzo and Heather Krick shared 17 kills. Melanie Ingram had seven aces, and Emily Shannon had 13 digs. Cassidy Koenig was the glue that held it all together, handing out 27 assists.
