A commanding win in the third set by Wissahickon's Singles Anne Marie Devlin gave the Trojans the victory over Unionville HS. With the team match at 2-1 Wissahickon, Devlin split sets with Unionvilee's Jackie Lane 6-3 4-6. Devlin took control of the final set, winning 6-1 and sealing the team win. Also winning for Wissahickon was Danielle Mustin, Devlin's partner in winning the Suburban One League American Conference Championship, and Wissahickon's Nora Landells and Christie Cesatini, the 3rd place team in the SOL AC Doubles Championship. In a preview of the next round of the PIAA District 1 Singles Championship, Unionville's Zania Zaki defeated Wissahickon's Maureen Devlin 4-6 6-4 6-3. Wissahickon will face West Chester Henderson on 10/20/11 (at Downingtown West HS) for the PIAA District 1 Championship. There will be no rest for Devlin/Mustin, Landells/Cesarini and Fuh/Horn. All three Wissahickon Doubles teams will compete in the PIAA District 1 Doubles Championships at Arthur Ashe on Wednesday 10/19/11 at 8 A.M.
