A team of Suburban One League All-Stars defeated the Friends All-Stars 3-0 in a game played at Eastern University on Sunday afternoon.
Council Rock North’s Lexi Crocker scored a goal that turned out to be the game winner in the 23rd minute. Abington’s Gabby Nyirjesy got a through ball down the left flank from Rock North’s Sarah Scheidell and served a cross. Central Bucks South’s Shannon Senour stepped through the box and redirected the service towards the back post where Crocker touched the ball into the net.
In the 48th minute, the SOL all-stars upped their lead to 2-0. The play began when Rock North’s Caitlin Hannagen flicked a ball over the defense to Crocker, and it was Crocker serving the ball in to Casey, who poked it by the keeper.
For good measure, the SOL all-stars tacked on a third goal. Senour headed a punt at midfield that sent Madi Vitelli and a defender back towards the goal in a foot race. Vitelli beat the defender and then blasted the ball past the charging keeper for the 3-0 final.
The SOL held a 7-5 lead in shots. Hatboro-Horsham’s Lindsey Day recorded the shutout and collected several big saves in the second half.
The SOL all-stars were coached by Neshaminy coach Rachel Clemens and Central Bucks South coach Joe Bocklett.
