Neshaminy 46, Council Rock South 27
The Redskins pulled off the upset of the night. After losing to Council Rock North 49-21 in the first of two dual meets at the Best of the Bucks Duals, Neshaminy stormed back.
It was the first time in nine years that Neshaminy had beaten South.
“I’m doing pretty good,” said Redskin coach Dan Winter after the match. “I’d feel even better if we went 2-0.”
Rock South was missing four starters, but Neshaminy was also without one of its starters.
Neshaminy was down by six when Harry Wilson pinned Quinn Moore to tie it up at 132. The Redskins were tough through the upper middleweights with Ryan O’Connor pinning at 145, Nathan Russell winning 2-0 at 152, Alex Nicholas pinning at 160, TJ Magdelinskas pinning at 172 and Cody Lupful sealing the win with a 9-0 major at 182.
“The falls in the middle weights enabled us to get ahead,” said Winter.
Council Rock North 49, Neshaminy 21
Neshaminy came out flat against an admittedly green Rock North, but North coach Tom Vivacqua was pleased with his newer kids.
“Neshaminy is always tough,” he said. “We’re not battle-tested yet. I wasn’t sure how we would respond, but they scrapped and wrestled well.”
He noted the effort of Chris Davis who bumped up to 160 and pinned. Sophomore Tyler Callender also moved up to heavyweight and recorded a fall.
Council Rock North 43, Bensalem 26
Micah Haines (120) and Matt O’Neill (170) both pinned for the Indians.
Pennsbury 40, William Tennent 30
Without a doubt, the highlight of this mach was the sixth meeting of juniors Kevin Flack of Tennent and Josh DiSanto.
Heading into the bout, DiSanto held a 4-1 advantage, but Flack pulled closer by catching DiSanto on his back in 54 seconds. Those two will inevitably have a few more head-to-heads before the season is over.
Dominic Martoccio (113) and Anthony DiEmidio (126) recorded falls for the Falcons, while Jason Bing rolled up a 13-0 major at 120. Also winning for Pennsbury was freshman 145-pounder with a 9-3 decision and David Mills followed with a 5-2 win at 152.

Central Bucks East 36, Souderton 34
The Patriots racked up the historic 400thprogram win at Souderton.
"It was a great match,” said East coach Dave Scarpill, who had hoped to get the 400that the Abington Duals over the weekend. The Patriots won their first two matches but then dropped three straight.
With a tough Delaware Valley tomorrow night, Scarpill wasn’t expecting to attain the magic number until next week.
With just a two-point difference, the match winner could be ascribed to any number of impressive bouts.
With two bouts left to wrestle and the Patriots up by just two points, 152-pounder Andrew Priest eked out a 3-2 decision over David McPherson and East hung on in the final bout to win.
But you could also point to the first bout of the evening at 170 in which Brodi Putz, wrestling his first-ever varsity match, pinned Matt Koester to set the tone.
Then Shane Peltonen, who usually wrestles 170, bumped up to 182 and pinned, and Steve Tilsner gutted out a decision at 195 to give the Patriots a 15-0 lead.
At 120 East’s Matt Cascioli fought off Souderton stud Kolton Veit, losing by a major decision and not a fall, which saved the Pats two points.
“We needed every point,” said Scarpill.
