MEN’S BASKETBALL
Point guard Jesse Krasna (Pennsbury) scored a team-high 14 points in Ursinus College’s 77-71 loss to Muhlenberg on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 77-75 win over Washington College, Krasna had 13 points.

Freshman forward Mike Marvin (Hatboro-Horsham) recorded his 13th double-double of the season in Penn State Abington’s 90-86 win over Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday. Marvin finished the game with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Teammate Josh Howard (Bensalem) went 6-for-9 from beyond the arc and finished the night with a team-high 26 points.

Freshman Sam Pygatt (Plymouth Whitemarsh) recorded his first double-figure scoring performance in PSAC East play and his first overall since Dec. 3 in Shippensburg’s 69-59 loss to Cheyney. He shot 5-of-5 from the free throw line and finished with 12 points and a career-high five rebounds. It was the fourth double-figure scoring performance of his freshman season. In Wednesday’s 71-63 loss to West Chester, Pygatt scored eight points.

Nick Reisig (Council Rock North) scored seven points in King’s College’s 74-60 loss to Wilkes University.

Sophomore AJ Picard (Souderton) scored 18 points in Goldey-Beacom’s 82-76 win over Concordia College on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 63-61 win over Chestnut Hill, Picard contributed 13 points.

Junior guard Derek Brooks (North Penn) contributed a team-high five assists to go along with four points in Gettysburg’s 60-55 win over Dickinson College on Wednesday.

Marcus Badger (Plymouth Whitemarsh) tied a career high with 12 points in No. 23 Randolph-Macon’s 72-60 win over Ferrum on Wednesday night.

Sophomore forward Andrew Stress (Council Rock North) contributed five points, seven rebounds and two steals in FDU Florham’s 61-60 win over Delaware Valley College on Saturday, but his biggest play came with time winding down when he knocked the ball away from an Aggie player to preserve the win.

Lorenzo Christmas (Norristown) scored 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 4-for-5 from beyond the arc, in Bloomsburg’s 56-55 win over Kutztown on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 81-60 win over Mansfield, Christmas scored a season-high 20 points, which included three straight three’s on Bloomsburg’s final three possessions. He connected on 7-of-9 shots, including 6-for-8 from three-point range. He also made four steals.

Senior Dan DelConte (Wissahickon) scored 12 points in third-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy’s 94-82 loss to sixth-seeded Immaculata.

Junior guard Khalif Wyatt (Norristown) contributed a game-high 24 points to lead Temple to its 10th straight win, a 78-59 decision over Duquesne on Saturday. He scored 15 of his points in the opening half, including six of Temple’s final eight as the Owls took a 42-31 lead at halftime. In Wednesday’s 76-70 win over St. Bonaventure, Wyatt scored 17 points.

Kenny Gula (Quakertown) scored five points in Moravian’s 81-77 loss to the University of Scranton on Saturday.

Julian Bond (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored six points on a pair of three-pointers in Lock Haven’s 85-35 loss to Gannon on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 72-67 loss to Clarion, Bond contributed seven points and three rebounds.

CJ Aiken (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed eight points, seven rebounds, four blocked shots and one steal in St. Joseph’s 73-66 win over George Washington on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 80-69 win over Rhode Island, Aiken scored 18 points, including a dunk that helped to seal the victory.

Nick Christian (Bensalem) contributed 15 points and five assists in Philadelphia University’s 65-44 win over Felician College on Saturday. Teammate Jim Connolly (Souderton) added 13 points. In Thursday’s 76-74 loss to the University of the Sciences, Connolly led the Rams with a game-high 21 points. Christian earned this second double-double of the year with a game-high 14 rebounds and 11 points. He also had four assists. Philly U is fifth in the first set of NCAA Division II East Region rankings that were released last Wednesday. The Rams are 17-8 overall.

Centenary College senior Ryan Donovan (Upper Merion) was named to the 2011-12 CSAC All-Sportsmanship team. Donovan was also named a FAR/FAB Winter Scholar-Athlete for his work on and off the court. Following this season, Donovan is in fourth place in the Centenary College men’s record books for most career games played at 98.

Freshman guard Whis Grant (Plymouth Whitemarsh) scored 15 points in East Stroudsburg’s 71-65 loss to West Chester. In Wednesday’s 80-69 win over Millersville, Grant scored 19 points and was 5-for-6 from the three-point line.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Senior guard Alli Rosati (Central Bucks East) netted 14 points and six rebounds in Ursinus College’s 61-56 loss to Muhlenberg on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 60-47 loss to Washington College, Rosati contributed eight points while teammate Jen Sroba (Council Rock North) came off the bench to pull down seven rebounds to go along with four points.

Colleen Hinde (Wissahickon) scored 12 points in Neumann University’s 85-71 loss to Bible Baptist College on Wednesday.

Brittany Kaewell (Central Bucks South) scored 14 points in Penn State Altoona’s 65-56 win over Hilbert College on Saturday afternoon.

Calla Miller (Central Bucks South) contributed five points and six rebounds in Haverford College’s 61-48 win over Swarthmore on Saturday.

Sophomore Brittany Sandone (Souderton) scored a team-high 23 points in Cabrini’s 71-60 win over Gwynedd-Mercy on Wednesday. It was the fifth straight win for the Cavaliers.

Sarah Kiely (Council Rock North) contributed six points, five rebounds and a blocked shot in American University’s 54-48 win over Army on Saturday. With the win, American became the first Patriot League team since 1996-97 to being 12-0 in league play. The win was the 20th of the season for American, which has reached the 20-win mark three consecutive seasons.

Danielle Derr (Upper Dublin) scored 12 points in Bloomsburg’s 69-50 win over Kutztown on Saturday.

Emily Leer (Abington) scored eight points and pulled down five rebounds in Villanova’s 61-52 loss to Rutgers University on Saturday.

Daniella Ciccarone (Quakertown) scored nine points in Walsh University’s 87-51 win over Wilberforce University on Thursday.

Senior forward Brittany McClain (Harry S Truman) contributed eight points and seven rebounds in East Stroudsburg’s 65-58 win over Millersville on Wednesday. Mashira Newman (Upper Dublin) scored a game-high 19 points to lead the Marauders.

Junior Shakia Robinson (North Penn) contributed her fourth career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds in the University of Massachusetts’ 63-59 loss to Saint Louis on Wednesday.

Heather McHugh (Norristown) scored 11 points in Lock Haven’s 77-67 loss to #19 Gannon on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 78-62 loss to Clarion, McHugh scored 10 points.

Gabrielle Benedict (Central Bucks West) scored a game-high 14 points in Penn State Abington’s 77-48 loss to St. Elizabeth College on Saturday. She also had six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Ashley Rosario (Harry S Truman) contributed 13 points, six rebounds and six assists in Goldey-Beacom’s 66-55 win over Chestnut Hill on Wednesday. In Saturday’s 75-64 win over Concordia College, Rosario had 10 points, five assists, three steals and seven rebounds.

MEN’S SWIMMING
Washington & Jefferson freshman Jake Meyers (Council Rock North) finished fourth in the 1650 freestyle (17:04.19) on the final day of the 2012 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday.

Bloomsburg junior Jeremy Frey (Central Bucks East) finished second in the 400 IM with a time of 4:08.21 and earned All-PSAC honors at the 2012 PSAC Championships. His time broke his own school record time of 4:08.48 which he set last year. He finished third in the 200 IM, breaking his own school record with a time of 1:54.06. His time also was an NCAA ‘B’ cut time. He was also part of the Huskies’ sixth place 800 free relay that finished with a time of 7:02.75. Mark DiLemmo (Central Bucks East) also was part of the relay and finished eighth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.97. He also finished 11th in the 500 free with a time of 4:46.54.  Tim Dorsch (Souderton) finished 10th in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 59.21. Frey, DiLemmo and Nick Ortlieb (North Penn) were part of the sixth place 200 medley relay team (1:36.59). Teammate Brendan Malone (Hatboro-Horsham) finished 15th in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:10.40. Dorsch was named the winner of the PSAC Champion Scholar Award given to the student-athlete with the top GPA at the championships.

West Chester junior Calvin Starosta (Upper Dublin) captured second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.78 at the 2012 PSAC Championships. He also was part of the first place 200 medley relay team that posted a time of 1:31.31.  

Shippensburg senior Joe Keefe (Neshaminy) finished fourth in the 100 backstroke at the 2012 PSAC Championships with a time of 52.51. He also captured 11th place in the 200 IM with a lifetime best of 1:56.81 and was part of the fourth place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:34.47.

WOMEN’S SWIMMING
Penn State junior Paige Whitmire (Souderton) was part of the 400 free relay that posted a time of 3:16.12 to capture first place at the Big 10 Championships on Saturday. The time was a pool and school record. Whitmire finished eighth in the 100 free with a time of 49.88. On Friday, she also was part of the 400 medley relay that blew away the field and set a school and pool record with a time of 3:33.50 to earn the Big Ten title. Whitmire earned fourth in the finals of the 100 backstroke, earning a time of 53.26 – a personal best. She finished fourth in the 50 free with a time of 22.67. On Wednesday, Whitmire was part of Penn State’s fourth place 200 medley relay team that finished with a time of 1:38.59, which was an NCAA ‘B’ standard time. Penn State captured fifth place as a team.

University of Maryland junior Megan Lafferty (Upper Dublin) earned All-ACC honors in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly. She secured a B-cut 48.93 in the 100 free, capturing second in that event at the 2012 ACC Championships on Saturday. She also was part of the second place 400 free relay that touched the wall at 3:16.60 for a B-cut mark and Maryland school record. On Friday, Lafferty was part of the third place 400 medley relay that posted a time of 3:36.15. She also took second in the 100 fly with a time of 52.68. On Thursday, Lafferty took third in the 50 free with a season-best mark of 22.50. She also was part of the second place 200 free relay that turned in a season-high, B-cut performance (1:30.02). On Wednesday, Lafferty was part of the fourth place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:40.55. Teammate Melanie Busch (William Tennent) also was part of the 200 free relay and also captured 18th place in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:59.43. 

Ursinus College’s Chelsea Kozior (Council Rock South) finished ninth in the 500 free with a time of 5:16.43 at the Centennial Conference Championships on Friday. On Saturday, Kozior was part of the 200 medley relay team that finished 11th with a time of 1:55.17.

Bloomsburg’s Madeline Barlow (Pennsbury) finished ninth in the 400 IM at the 2012 PSAC Championships with a time of 4:37.21. She was eighth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 58.70 and was part of the eighth place 200 medley relay that posted a time of 1:49.43. Teammate Julia DiVicent (Upper Dublin) finished sixth in the 200 free with a time of 1:53.68. She also was part of Bloomsburg’s fifth place 800 free relay that finished with a time of 7:43.04.

Millersville junior Ashley Kichline (Souderton) and sophomore Amanda Thomas (William Tennent) were part of the 10th place 800 free relay team that finished with a time of 7:58.18 and the 12th place 200 medley relay (1:50.27) at the 2012 PSAC Championships. The 200 medley relay team broke the school’s record. Kichline and Thomas were part of the 400 medley relay team that finished 11th in a time of 4:01.51. Kichline was part of the 200 free relay that finished in 12th place with a time of 1:41.97.

Lock Haven freshman Abby Miller (Neshaminy) and senior Kasey Blesh (Neshaminy) were part of the 11th place 800 free relay that posted a time of 8:00.72 at the 2012 PSAC Championships. Blesh also finished 27th in the 100 freestyle with a time of 10:50.23.

West Chester junior Jess Healy (Hatboro-Horsham) finished 12th in the 100 backstroke at the 2012 PSAC Championships with a time of 58.97. West Chester captured first place in the meet.

Washington & Jefferson College senior swimmer/track & field athlete CJ Corcoran (Souderton) was selected as the Presidents’ Athletic Conference Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Month for February. Each month, SAAC members at a PAC school nominate a student-athlete to highlight based on academic and athletic accomplishments. Honorees must be a varsity member in their respective sport(s) and in their junior or senior year. Scholar-Athletes of the Month must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and be actively involved on his or her campus community. Corcoran helped her team earn an 11-1 dual meet record this winter and led the Presidents to the team title at the Grove City Winter Invitational in December. At Grove City, she swam the second leg on the winning 400 medley relay team (4:04.34). A two-year captain, Corcoran won two or more events in 11 of the Presidents’ 12 dual meets this season. Last year she was the conference runner-up in the 50 freestyle (24.35) and the 100 breaststroke (1:08.35) while also swimming on the second place 400 freestyle relay (3:38.75). She was a 2011 First Team All-PAC choice after earning second team honors following her freshman and sophomore years. During her four-year career, Washington & Jefferson posted a 45-6 dual meet record, including a perfect 13-0 junior season. During the spring, Corcoran is a member of the PAC champion track and field team and was honored as the 2011 PAC Field MVP. She won the conference javelin title and placed second in the high jump. Corcoran went on to compete at the NCAA Division III Championships where she placed 16th in the javelin. Corcoran is a Spanish major (minor in education with certification in special education) and boasts a 3.33 GPA. She also is a member of the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish honor society.

Corcoran closed out her career with a third place finish in the 100 freestyle (53.38) on the final day of the 2012 Presidents’ Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on Saturday. One day earlier, Corcoran claimed third place in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.32), and on the first day of the PAC Championships Thursday, Corcoran was part of the second place 200 free relay team (1:38.57) and finished second in the 50 free with a time of 24.66.

Shippensburg’s Alyssa Boeggeman (Neshaminy) finished 29th in the 100 breaststroke (1:15.77) and 37th in the 500 free (5:15.51) at the 2012 PSAC Championships. Teammate Colleen Stiles (North Penn) finished 22nd in the 100 backstroke (1:01.43). Junior Alayna Ryan (Abington) touched the wall in 10:47.69 in the 1000 freestyle. She finished 26th in the 500 free (5:15.51).

WRESTLING
Freshman Richard Jasinski (Pennridge) earned a 7-0 decision at 157 in 28th-ranked Ursinus College’s 24-18 loss to 19th-ranked Wilkes on Saturday.
