Madison Meyer boasts an 85-3 career record in individual races in dual meets and owns numerous league and district titles and records, but talk to coach Ted Schueller about his star swimmer, and he won’t mention any of those things. Instead, he recalls the Council Rock North senior giving up the opportunity to break a pool record in order to help her teammate make the district cut. “She made the cut, and Madison was the first one to get out and hug her,” Schueller recalled. “That shows what kind of kid Madison is. She’s unselfish and she’s a total teammate in every way.”
Meyer is quick to credit her coach and those swimmers who showed her how to be successful through her years at Rock North. “The whole experience has been amazing,” Meyer said. “Coming into that legacy of Council Rock North and being able to represent it, the individual success was toward the team success. I felt proud being able to represent my school.” Meyer has placed no small part in the last four years of success. She has been the SOL National Conference champion in the 200 and 500 free for the past two years and won the district title in the 500 free as a sophomore. She has been a district finalist and state qualifier for three years. Then there are her 200 and 400 relay squads. The senior captain has never been on a losing relay in four years of dual meets. “The girls really look up to her and follow her,” Schueller said.
Meyer has accepted a swimming scholarship to Southern Methodist University where she will study business marketing.

Tyler Schechter is the ‘big man’ on his Central Bucks West basketball squad despite his 6-3 frame. “Tyler leads our team in rebounding and has had to take on the role of defending bigger players,” coach Adam Sherman said. “He has tremendous quickness and is the best athlete on our team. He sets a great example for the other players on the team. Tyler is the first one on the floor to dive for loose balls, and he leads our team in pulling charges. We are not the same team when he is not on the floor.”
A two-year starter, Schechter has played a key role in West’s run to an SOL Continental Conference title this season and will do whatever it takes to win. He takes the same approach in the classroom. “Tyler has a very good GPA and does extremely well in the classroom,” Sherman said. “He achieves on the basketball floor and the classroom the same way – with hard work. Tyler is the captain of this team and leads by example.”
Schecter will be attending Franklin & Marshall next fall. He is undecided on his major but is leaning toward something in the science field. He plans to try out for the basketball team
