Coach: Chelsea Rosiek (1st year, assistant coach last year)
Assistant coaches: Mary Stutman, Catherine Philips
Last year’s record: 12-7 overall, 10-2 SOL; advanced to district playoffs and suffered a tough loss against Springfield Delco in the first round 15-6.
Notable losses: Alex Smith- Midfielder, Emily Croke –Midfielder, Jess Scannapieco – Goalie (playing at Western New England University)
Key returners: Lauren Frankenfield Midfield 10th, Ali Hunter Defense 12th, Zoe Kale Midfield 12th, Zoe Gomez Attack 10th, Taylor Myers Midfield 10th
Others to watch: Rachel Zucker Attack 10th, Bailey Weber Midfield 10th, Lauren Irvine Midfield 9th, Julie Silverman GK 9th.
Strengths: Wissahickon returns with the majority of their team intact. Through individual hard work off-season they are coming back well conditioned and ready to run. We are looking forward to a fast paced and youthful team. Led by captains Ali Hunter and Zoe Kale, this team is dedicated and motivated to win.
Outlook: Lauren Frankenfield is returning after committing to Boston College. She will be a large factor on attack and be a major producer on our team. Our senior leadership: Zoe Kale (committed to play field hockey at Northeastern) and Ali Hunter are very knowledgeable and prepared to lead their team to a winning season. Standout sophomores Zoe Gomez and Taylor Myers will return to be large producers on our attacking end. Numerous younger players have stepped up this fall and will be major contributors this spring. Look out for freshman Lauren Irvine and Julie Silverman to make big things happen!
