BASEBALL
Robbie Zinsmeister (North Penn)
went 5-for-8 with two doubles, two homers and six RBIs in IUP’s sweep of West Liberty in a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon (15-6, 9-4). The two home runs were numbers eight and nine on the season for Zinsmeister. Teammate Dylan Tice (Pennridge) delivered a hit and an RBI in the 9-4 win. In IUP’s sweep of West Liberty on Friday (8-1, 3-2), Zinsmeister was 3-for-8. Jared Weed (Council Rock North) threw two scoreless innings in relief in the 3-2 win, striking out three. In Tuesday’s 13-11 win over Shippensburg in game two of a doubleheader, Weed struck out two and allowed one hit over the final two innings to earn the save. In the twinbill, Zinsmeister was 3-for-7 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored while Tice was 2-for-6.

Keith Meyer (Council Rock South) singled and scored a run in Bloomsburg’s 4-2 win over Kutztown in game two of a twinbill on Friday. In game one, Matt Albaugh (North Penn) contributed a hit and scored a run in Millersville’s 3-0 win.

John Burns (Neshaminy) collected two of his team’s five hits in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 7-2 loss to TCNJ on Wednesday. In Gwynedd’s 4-3 loss to #14 Keystone, Burns was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

Ryan Henritzy (Council Rock North) was 3-for-3 with a run scored in Lock Haven’s 4-0 win over Slippery Rock on Sunday. In Lock Haven’s 5-4 win over Slippery Rock in game one of a twinbill on Friday, Henritzy was 2-for-4 with a run scored. In Lock Haven’s 9-5 win in game two, Henritzy was 2-for-3 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored.

Junior shortstop Joe Crane (Council Rock South) had a pair of hits and scored a run in Chestnut Hill’s 6-5 win over Lincoln University on Friday in game one of a doubleheader. In Chestnut Hill’s 11-3 win in game two, senior leftfielder Alex Latchum (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. In Chestnut Hill’s 8-3 win over Philadelphia University in game one of a doubleheader on Wednesday, Joe Mullin (Central Bucks South) was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. In the Rams 1-0 win in game two, Ray Puskar (Pennridge) was 2-for-3 while Latchum was 2-for-4 and Crane was 1-for-1 with an RBI.

Freshman Mike McLeod (Harry S Truman) upped his record to 2-0 by earning a win in La Salle’s 2-1 win over George Washington in a suspended game that was completed on Saturday, escaping a one-out jam and pitching a scoreless seventh. Kevin Christy (North Penn) started the game, allowing six hits and one run while fanning four in six solid innings. In Friday’s 6-3 loss to Temple, senior Adam Kammler (Pennridge) drove in a pair of runs. In La Salle’s 5-4 win in 10 innings over Villanova on Tuesday, junior Shane Petrellis (Council Rock South) pitched four shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out one. McLeod also worked a scoreless inning in relief. Kammler contributed a pair of hits and scored a run.

Dan Seitzinger (Central Bucks West) was 4-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in Moravian College’s 12-3 win over Juniata College in game two of a twinbill on Sunday. In Moravian’s 13-3 win over Juniata in game one, Matt Hanson (Central Bucks West) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Seitzinger was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Matt Hone (Council Rock North) was 2-for-4 with one RBI in Widener’s 14-1 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday. Tim Filer (Council Rock North) delivered a single for Lebanon Valley. In Widener’s 11-7 win over Rutgers-Camden on Tuesday, Hone was 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Sophomore Greg Welsh (Council Rock South) threw two innings in relief in Penn State’s 4-3 win in 10 innings over Indiana on Saturday, allowing three hits and one run. In Wednesday’s 5-3 win over Pitt, Walsh entered the game with two outs in the sixth and the bases loaded. He ended the threat by coaxing a ground ball to second out of Rick Devereaux, who was hitting .443. He went on to throw 2.1 scoreless innings in relief of starter Mike Franklin (Souderton), who earned the win. Franklin allowed five hits and three runs in 5.2 innings on the mound.  

Freshman Billy Fleming (Council Rock South) was 1-for-3 with an RBI in West Virginia’s 12-7 win over Akron on Tuesday.

Leftfielder Ken McCormick (Pennsbury) contributed a two-run single in Philadelphia University’s 10-8 loss to Concordia (N.Y.) on Saturday. He finished the game 2-for-5 with a run scored.

Eric Smith (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed a hit and scored a run in Eastern University’s 13-5 loss to King’s on Saturday.

Junior right hander Jake Kohler (Upper Dublin) earned the win on the mound in Ursinus College’s 8-1 win over Lebanon Valley on Wednesday. Kohler, who is 2-0 on the young season, struck out one, walked four, allowed one run (unearned) and scattered three hits in 6.1 innings of work. AJ Wright (Council Rock South) tossed 1.2 innings without allowing a hit. In Tuesday’s 13-8 loss to Delaware Valley, sophomore first baseman Jake Neiman (Quakertown) contributed two RBIs.

Mike Ferrier (Pennridge) delivered an RBI double while Pete O’Hara (Council Rock North) contributed an RBI infield single in Delaware Valley’s 6-5 loss to DeSales on Saturday. In Del Val’s 13-8 win over Ursinus on Tuesday, O’Hara delivered a three-run triple. He finished the game 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs scored and three RBIs.

Ryan Pater (Central Bucks East) was 2-for-4 in Saint Joseph’s 7-1 win over Bucknell on Sunday. In Saturday’s 2-1 win over Bucknell, Pater was 1-for-2 with a run scored.

Craig Lepre (North Penn) had a pair of hits in Albany’s 7-4 loss to Coastal Carolina on Friday. In Tuesday’s 10-3 win over Marist, Lepre contributed a pair of RBIs. Lepre is hitting .294 for the season (10-for-34).

Ryan Brown (Souderton) was 3-for-3 with a run scored in Messiah College’s 7-6 loss to Alvernia on Saturday.

Mike Bradstreet (North Penn) fanned a pair and did not allow a hit while working a scoreless ninth to earn his sixth save of the season in the University of Rhode Island’s 5-2 win over Charlotte on Friday. In Wednesday’s 7-5 win over Sacred Heart, Bradstreet threw a scoreless ninth to earn the save.

Dan Hinchcliff (North Penn) was two-for-three with two RBIs and two runs scored in Catholic University’s 13-5 win over Drew University on Friday. 

Chris Edgar (North Penn) was 3-for-3 with a solo home run in Millersville’s 5-2 loss to Shippensburg in game one of a twinbill on Friday. In the Marauders’ 7-4 loss to the Raiders in game two, Edgar was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored while teammate David Pine (Council Rock North) was 1-for-3.

Michael Corrigan (William Tennent) scored two runs and contributed a pair of hits, including a double, and one RBI in Penn State Abington’s 19-3 win over Valley Forge Christian College on Thursday. Teammate Chris Hunter (Pennsbury) allowed one run in an inning of relief. In game two of the twinbill – a 10-4 Penn State Abington win over Valley Forge Christian, Will Erskine (North Penn) and Henry Rosenbloom (Cheltenham) each had a hit. Rosenbloom also had an RBI and a run scored. Corrigan did not allow a hit and struck out one in a scoreless inning of relief on the mound. In Wednesday’s 4-0 win over Rutgers-Camden, Corrigan contributed an RBI. In Tuesday’s 14-3 win over Philadelphia Biblical University, Corrigan threw four scores innings in his first stint on the mound. Chris Hunter (Bensalem) contributed a hit for the Lions while Dean Diernbach (Central Bucks West) contributed a sacrifice fly for Philadelphia Biblical.

Nick Schnittjer (Pennridge) was 2-for-4 in Philadelphia Biblical’s 19-5 loss to Lancaster Bible on Thursday.

Junior Jordon Hofferman (Cheltenham) improved to 3-0 on the season, earning the win on the mound in Arcadia’s 4-3 win over Elizabethtown on Friday. Through four-and-a-third innings, he allowed two runs (none earned) while allowing two hits and a walk. In Tuesday’s 12-5 win over Drew University, Hofferman worked a no-hit third inning.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Alvernia University’s Julie Hahn (Central Bucks South) was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference Winter Academic Honor Roll. The Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher who participated in a varsity-level winter sport and posted a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.

MEN’S LACROSSE
Sophomore faceoff specialist Shawn Caven (Pennsbury) had two ground balls and was 8-for-15 on faceoffs in Ursinus College’s 11-4 loss to eighth-ranked Dickinson on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 12-6 win over Franklin & Marshall, Caven had six ground balls and was 6-for-19 on faceoffs.

Junior Heath Kupecky (Upper Merion) scored a goal in Messiah College’s 14-6 loss to Eastern University on Saturday.

Johnny Casey (Abington) contributed the hat trick in Widener’s 16-10 win over Eastern Connecticut State on Tuesday.

Freshman defender Andrew Girondo (Upper Dublin) picked up a team high four ground balls in Penn State Abington’s 28-0 loss to Misericordia on Wednesday.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Junior Lauren McDermott (North Penn) contributed two goals and an assist in La Salle’s 10-8 win over San Diego State on Sunday. In Wednesday’s 13-9 win over Villanova, McDermott delivered a hat trick and also contributed an assist.
Kendall Rood (Central Bucks East) contributed two goals and an assist in Eastern University’s 13-12 win over Alvernia on Saturday.

Junior Lauren Mateja (Upper Merion) made a career-high 16 saves to lead Millersville to a 12-10 upset of No. 6 Lock Haven on Saturday. It was the Marauders first win over the Bald Eagles since 2004. Karen Illuminati (Upper Moreland) contributed a goal while Hannah Vogel (Hatboro-Horsham) had a game-high three assists.

Aubrey Bossert (Wissahickon) scored a pair of goals while Ashley Bossert (Wissahickon) added a single goal in Bloomsburg’s 17-6 win over Kutztown on Tuesday. In Sunday’s 13-12 overtime win over seventh-ranked West Chester, both Aubrey and Ashley Bossert contributed single goals. Teammate Carly Ball (North Penn) had a caused turnover that set up the game-winning goal. 

Stacey Pellechia (North Penn) contributed a goal in West Chester’s 19-6 win over East Stroudsburg on Tuesday.

Senior Molly McLenigan (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed a goal in East Stroudsburg’s 23-13 win over Philadelphia University on Sunday. In ESU’s 12-5 win over Kutztown on Saturday, McLenigan also contributed a goal. Leeann Pica (Neshaminy) scored a goal for Kutztown.

Pica contributed a goal and an assist in Kutztown’s 12-4 win over Chestnut Hill on Thursday.

Junior Roxanne Brown (Pennridge) scored two goals while freshman Garrie Grenfell (North Penn) added a single goal in Shippensburg’s 17-0 win over Wheeling Jesuit on Thursday. Senior Ali Cross (Upper Dublin) achieved her first career shutout by making two saves in goal.

Jenna D’Arcy (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed three goals and an assist in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 15-5 win over Immaculata on Saturday. Amy Powell (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed a goal and an assist. In Thursday’s 16-4 loss to Washington & Jefferson, Powell had one goal. 

Stephanie Bianco (Upper Merion) scored a season high five goals in IUP’s 21-10 win over Millersville on Saturday. Vogel contributed a goal for Millersville. In Tuesday’s 16-14 overtime win over Shippensburg, Bianco had two goals and an assist. Brown contributed a goal for Shippensburg while Grenfell added an assist. When senior goalkeeper Meghan Kearney was lost to an injury just over 10 minutes into the game, Cross was shifted from her starting attack position into goalie by virtue of being the only other player on the roster with experience at the position. As a freshman, Cross was the goaltender for one half of a 16-7 victory over Seton Hill on March 7, 2009. In Shippensburg’s 20-19 overtime win over 15th-ranked Pfieffer last Sunday, Bianco contributed two goals, four draw controls and three ground balls.

Emily Maher (Pennridge) contributed the hat trick in American University’s 22-9 win over Bucknell on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 19-17 win over George Mason, Maher also contributed three goals.

Lauren Greco (Council Rock South) scored a pair of goals in Holy Family’s 19-11 loss to Queens College (N.Y.) on Saturday. In Thursday’s 23-6 win over Post University, Greco scored a pair of goals while freshman Caitlin Carrezola (Neshaminy) added a single goal.

Junior midfielder Elizabeth Chatburn (Upper Dublin) contributed a goal and three draw controls in Ursinus College’s 14-9 win over Dickinson on Saturday. In Thursday’s 14-10 loss to Rowan, Chatburn had four ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Victoria Brady (North Penn) contributed a goal in Penn State Abington’s 18-5 loss to Arcadia University on Thursday.

Senior Rachel Dirksen (Abington) scored five goals and contributed an assist in #12 Messiah College’s 12-6 win over York College on Saturday. Rachel Coyle (Souderton) helped to lead Messiah’s defense. In Tuesday’s 15-14 overtime loss to #8 Franklin & Marshall, Dirksen contributed three goals and three assists.

Freshman Melinda Wojt (Souderton) was credited with three ground balls and two caused turnovers in #6 Lock Haven’s 11-8 loss to third-ranked CW Post on Saturday. In Lock Haven’s 19-10 win over #10 Merrimack on Thursday, freshman Kelly Hamilton (Central Bucks South) contributed a pair of goals while Lindsay Walbrandt (Souderton) added a single goal. In Lock Haven’s 12-10 win over Millersville, Hamilton had one goal and two assists while Wojt had four caused turnovers and four ground balls.

WOMEN’S SOCCER
Junior defender Casey McGill (Upper Merion) was one of four members of the Green Mountain College soccer team to receive North Atlantic Conference All-Academic honors. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached junior academic standing, have completed a minimum two years of varsity competition with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. McGill is an English/Secondary Education major.

SOFTBALL
Melissa Kulp (Upper Merion)
was 3-for-5 with three runs scored and an RBI in Penn State Abington’s 10-2 win over Valley Forge on Saturday. In game two of the twinbill, Kulp delivered a two-run single in a 12-4 win. Kulp also started on the mound, allowing four runs on nine hits while striking out two. 

D’Anna Devine (Pennsbury) was 1-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored in the University of South Florida’s 11-0 win over Rutgers on Saturday. In Monday’s 2-1 win over UMass, Devine, who drew a two-out walk in the seventh, scored the game winning run on a wild pitch.

Samantha Schoell (North Penn) was 2-for-3 in Temple’s 9-7 win over Charlotte in game one of a twinbill on Friday. In Temple’s 10-5 win in game two of the doubleheader, Schoell also collected a hit and scored a run. In Temple’s 8-0 loss to Iona on Wednesday, Schoell had one of her team’s five hits.

Kelly Hendrickson (William Tennent) was 2-for-3 and scored a run in Philadelphia Biblical University’s 12-2 loss to Cedar Crest College on Friday.

Mary Ward (North Penn) delivered a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth inning to propel IUP to a 1-0 win over Lock Haven in game two of a twinbill on Friday. The Crimson Hawks lost the first game 2-1. Chelsea Edwards (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 for Lock Haven in its 2-1 win. In Wednesday’s 5-4 win over Shepherd, Ward contributed an RBI double. She also had a hit and scored a run in IUP’s 5-1 win in game two.

Freshmen Kelsi Bunda (Pennsbury) and Erica Reis (Central Bucks East) each went 2-for-5 in Holy Family’s twinbill sweep at the hands of Caldwell College on Saturday (5-3, 6-0). Reis also drove in a run in game one. In Friday’s 2-1 win over the University of the Sciences, Lindsey Iden (Council Rock North) contributed a hit and RBI. In Wednesday’s 6-1 loss to Millersville, junior Deanna Myers (William Tennent) finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate. In last Sunday’s 8-3 win over Mercy College, Myers, who was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, hit a pair of home runs and finished the game with four RBIs. Reis (2-for-4, 2 RBIs) and Iden also hit back-to-back homers to give Holy Family a 5-0 lead. Bunda contributed a hit and scored a run.

Senior third baseman Rachel Gieringer (Hatboro-Horsham) singled and scored a run in East Stroudsburg’s 5-0 win over Millersville in game one of a twinbill on Sunday. Gieringer also had a hit in ESU’s 3-2 loss in game. Danielle DiFilippo (Hatboro-Horsham), Gabbie Berry (Norristown) and Alicia Hughes (Quakertown) each contributed a hit for the Marauders in the win. In East Stroudsburg’s 11-3 win over Shippensburg on Friday, Gieringer contributed a hit and RBI.

Freshman Liz Parkins (Souderton) earned her first career save in Shippensburg’s 8-4 win over East Stroudsburg, working the final two innings and allowing two hits while striking out two.

Heather Hannum (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-2 with a solo home run in Kutztown’s 1-0 win over West Chester on Sunday in game one of a twinbill. Hannum also had a single and RBI in Kutztown’s 2-1 win in game two. In Kutztown’s 5-3 win over Georgian Court in game two of a doubleheader on Friday, Hannum ripped a three-run home run. In game one, a 13-0 Kutztown win, Hannum was 1-for-3 with two runs scored.

Devon Utterback (Central Bucks South) improved to 8-4 on the season after tossing a complete game in West Chester’s 2-1 win over Millersville on Friday. Utterback allowed just two hits while fanning one. Megan Kelly (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed a hit and scored a run for the Golden Rams. Gabbie Berry and Alicia Hughes accounted for the Marauders only hits. In Millersville’s 3-0 win over West Chester in game two of the twinbill, Berry was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored while DiFilippo also collected a double. Kelly accounted for West Chester’s only hit. In West Chester’s 5-1 win over Goldey-Beacom on Wednesday in game one of a doubleheader, Utterback notched the win, allowing three hits while striking out four. Kelly and Jessica Schuck (Council Rock South) both contributed hits for the Rams. In the Rams’ 9-5 win in game two of the sweep, Schuck was 2-for-3 with an RBI and run scored while Kelly contributed a triple and RBI.

In Millersville’s 2-1 win over Holy Family on Wednesday, Hughes starred in the circle and at the plate, tossing a complete game while not allowing an earned run. Hughes walked none and struck out four. She also delivered a solo home run. In the Marauders’ 6-1 win in game two, Berry hit her second home run in as many days. DiFilippo also had a hit and scored a run. In Millersville’s 7-0 win over Philadelphia University on Tuesday, Berry delivered a three-run home run. In the Marauders’ 5-1 win in game two, Berry was 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and one run scored. DiFilippo added two hits and scored a run. Hughes, who worked two scoreless innings in relief, also had a hit. Freshman Stephanie Kulp (North Penn) earned the first save of her career, working a scoreless seventh.

Freshman MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro-Horsham) had two of Gwynedd-Mercy’s five hits in the Griffins’ 6-0 loss to Baptist Bible on Friday. In Gwynedd’s 7-5 loss to Baptist Bible in game two of the twinbill, sophomore Stephanie Farrar (North Penn) went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs. Ballerino also had a hit and scored a run. In Wednesday’s doubleheader sweep at the hands of Misericordia (6-3, 14-2), Farrar was 4-for-6 with two runs

Lebanon Valley senior pitcher Kristen Palmerio (Norristown) was named Commonwealth Pitcher of the Week for the week ending March 19. Palmerio pitched four games the preceding week, including shutouts against #13 SUNY Cortland and DeSales on the same day. Palmerio struck out eight batters against Juniata in a 5-4 win. She followed with a 10-strikeout game against Kean in a 1-0 loss in 10 innings. Her ERA dropped from 1.65 to 0.97, and she improved to 5-3 on the season. Palmerio helped her own cause in each game, leading the offense with a .415 batting average. She had a three-hit game against Juniata, which included a double and triple with two RBIs and reached base in five of six games.

Palmerio earned a pair of wins on Sunday, pitching a total of 14 innings in Lebanon Valley’s sweep of Widener. In game one, a 4-3 Lebanon Valley win, Palmerio allowed three runs on nine hits. She struck out three and did not walk a batter. Teammate Chelsea Detwiler (Norristown), who had a hit earlier in the game,delivered a sacrifice fly that pushed the tying run across in the bottom of the seventh. In a 2-0 shutout in game two, Palmerio allowed just two hits and one walk, striking out three. On Wednesday, Palmerio saw action on the mound in Lebanon Valley’s sweep of Gettysburg (7-6, 3-1). In game one, Palmerio worked the final two innings, allowing two hits and no runs to earn her first save of the season. In game two, Palmerio allowed one hit and one walk while striking out three in three scoreless innings in relief. On Tuesday, Palmerio found herself in another pitcher’s duel, allowing seven hits and four walks in 9.1 innings of work while striking out four in Lebanon Valley’s 1-0 loss in 10 innings to Messiah College. By not allowing an earned run, Palmerio shaved her season ERA to a team-leading 0.83.

MEN’S SWIMMING/DIVING
Indiana junior Zac Nees (North Penn) placed sixth in the 3-meter springboard competition with a final round score of 380.0 at the 2012 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., on Saturday. Nees, who earned All-American honors, posted the fourth highest score in school history in the preliminaries at 432.40 to qualify second.  Nees finished fifth in the 1-meter competition with a final round score of 370.10, earning honorable mention All-American status. Nees finished eighth in the platform diving competition with a score of 343.95, earning honorable mention All-American honors. He qualified for the championship final after posting a score of 379.80 in prelims. Indiana finished 10th overall in the team standings with 140 points.

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Alvernia freshman Peter MacNamee (Pennridge) ran a lifetime best in the 5000m run, breaking the school record in Saturday’s West Chester Invitational.

Messiah College senior Zach Hoagland (North Penn) was named to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Academic Honor Roll this winter. To qualify for the Honor Roll, student-athletes of sophomore class standing or higher must be a varsity sport participant with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale.

Millersville’s Seth Hibbs (Hatboro-Horsham) was the runner-up in the 1,500 meter run at the Golden Ram Invitational on Saturday, posting a time of 4:04.74.

La Salle’s Nick Crits (Wissahickon) finished in third place in the 800m race at the Big 5 Invitational at Franklin Field, posting a time of 1:54.60.

Senior Eric Wolfe (Central Bucks South) was part of Shippensburg’s 4x400 relay team that set a new meet record at the Washington & Lee/VMI Carnival on Friday, posting a time of 3:15.91. That time is less than a second removed from being a NCAA provisional qualifying mark. He also picked up his conference qualifier in the 400 with a time of 49.87.

Freshman Brandon Mercer (North Penn) and sophomore Keith Parker-Washington (Upper Moreland) were part of East Stroudsburg’s 4x100 relay that captured first place at the Monmouth Invitational on Saturday, posting a time of 41.79. Parker-Washington also was part of the winning sprint medley relay that posted a time of 3:31.15, less than a second off the school record of 3:30.54 set in 2000. Mercer finished fourth in the 100m dash (11.26). Sophomore Christopher Walker (Pennridge) was part of ESU’s 4x400 relay that won with a time of 3:22.06. He finished 10th in the 400m hurdles (55.51).

West Chester’s Anthony Jackson (Wissahickon) placed third in the long jump (10-4 ¼) at the Golden Rams’ Collegiate meet on Saturday while teammate Adam Heath (Cheltenham) was fifth (19-9 ½). Heath was part of the 4x100m team that finished third with a time of 43.23. Nick Drozd (Central Bucks South) was fourth in the 400m with a time of 49.45.

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Junior Brenda Flaherty (North Penn) and senior Brooke Airey (Neshaminy) were part of Messiah College’s 4x800 meter relay that placed first at Saturday’s kick-off to the outdoor season at the University of Mary Washington. Airey also ran the 1200 meter leg of the distance medley relay team that finished third with a time of 13:26.06.  Freshman Leah Novak (Souderton) ran the 800 meter leg while sophomore Jennifer Bender (North Penn) anchored the race in the mile leg.

IUP junior Ayanna LeBlanc (North Penn) won the shot put with a toss of 40-10.25 (12.45 meters) at California’s Early Bird Invitational on Saturday. That distance was the PSAC’s third best mark this spring.

Lock Haven’s Vanita Moses (Neshaminy) captured first place in the discus with a PSAC mark (117-06) at the Elliston Earlybird Open on Saturday.

West Chester’s Kim McManus (Plymouth Whitemarsh) finished third in the 1500m (4:58.70) but won the steeplechase with a time of 11:45.00 at Saturday’s Golden Rams Collegiate meet. Danielle Howell (North Penn) was seventh in the 400m hurdles (1:14.80). Danielle Kuhn (Central Bucks East) was part of the 4x400 relay team that finished third with a time of 4:16.42.

Millersville’s Michelle Blum (Central Bucks East) captured third place in the 3000m run at the Golden Ram Invitational on Saturday, posting a time of 11:10.90.

Junior Caitlin Stuetz (Cheltenham) was part of Shippensburg’s 4x400 relay squad that set a new meet record at Washington & Lee/VMI Carnival on Friday, posting a winning time of 3:52.31. Stuetz also won both the 100 and 400-meter high hurdle events. She finished the high hurdles in 14.88 seconds and the intermediate hurdles in 1:02.50, setting a meet record with the latter performance.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Noah Prickett (Pennsbury)
led Philadelphia Biblical University with 23 kills and 15 digs in the Crimson Eagles’ 3-2 win over 13th-ranked Elmira College on Saturday. In Philadelphia Biblical’s 3-1 win over Lancaster Bible College on Saturday, Ryan Garven (Council Rock North) and Nate Seidle (Central Bucks West) both contributed 10 kills while Prickett once again led the way with 11 kills. In Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Kean, Prickett contributed 13 kills while Seidle had six bock assists to go along with one solo block.

Sophomore Austin Jacoby (Pennridge) totaled 46 kills and 24 digs in his first four games back from injury as Stevenson improved to 5-0 with him in the lineup this season and 27-7 over the last two. Stevenson finished the two-day Endicott Invitational undefeated with a 4-0 record after wins over SUNY New Paltz and Sage on Sunday.
