On Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, Central Bucks South senior Maddie DiBrino was recognized at a special news conference for signing a letter of intent to play lacrosse at Drexel University.
Maddie DiBrino – Drexel University (Lacrosse)
Major – Hospitality
Final list of colleges: Drexel, James Madison University, New Haven, University of Delaware
Reasons for choosing Drexel: “I loved the team and the coach, and I loved the lacrosse program, but I also loved the co-op program the school has that allows you to work for half the year. They also had my major and only a few schools did.”
What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse: “When I first started, I wasn’t really sure that I wanted to play in college. As it got closer, I was on the fence, but by my sophomore year, I was like, ‘I’m in love with lacrosse.’ I just love to play, and I was like, ‘You know what – I’m going to play in college.’”
Coach Janique Craig says: “I couldn’t be any prouder of Maddie DiBrino. She’s the first Division One scholarship lacrosse player coming out of CB South. Maddie is not just a great lacrosse player, but she’s a great person, role model and leader on the lacrosse team and at CB South. “Maddie has started for four years. She started out playing defense and became more of a midfielder, and she started being a presence on the attacking end last year. She really can play anywhere on the field and be successful. She’s strong, she’s fast, she’s athletic, and she’s very versatile. She’s the ultimate lacrosse player.”
