PENNSBURY 13, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2
The Falcons sprinted to an 11-0 halftime lead en route to Thursday’s decisive win.
Andrew Probst led a balanced attack with three goals while teammates Calvin Hopkins, Ryan McDonald, Mike Costantini and Evan Caterson each had two goals and one assist. Sean McDonald also had an assist.
The Golden Hawks received single goals from both Nick Guglielmi and Mitch Vayasmen.
Drew Sweetland (five saves) and Phil Jutkiewicz (three saves) combined for eight saves in goal for the Falcons, who held a 44-13 advantage in shots.
HATBORO-HORSHAM 10, SPRING-FORD 5
The Hatters earned a big win over a Rams’ squad that brought an 8-1 record into Thursday’s non-league battle. Hatboro – which picked up its sixth straight win - took a 3-0 lead at the end of one quarter and led 4-2 at the intermission. The Rams rallied to knot the score 4-4 at the end of three quarters, but the Hatters won it with a 6-1 fourth quarter surge.
Jimmy Murphy led the Hatters with four goals while Jimmy Durkin added a pair. Jake Durkin contributed one goal and two assists while Trevor Downing, Pat Downing and Connor Kreston each added one goal. Kreston and Steve Palo each had an assist.
Steve Palo dominated face-offs, winning 11 of 17. Dom DeFazio anchored a standout defensive effort along with teammates Tyler Gehlhaus, Jake Cresta, Sean Black and Ryan Higgins. Mark Poust had a big day in goal, picking up eight saves.
On Monday, the Hatters will face Central Bucks East in a key SOL Continental Conference showdown.
WISSAHICKON 10, ARCHBISHOP WOOD 6
The Trojans took a 5-4 lead into halftime and still led by just one (7-6) heading into the final quarter when they outscored the Spartans 3-0. Zach Scannapieco had a big offensive game, scoring five goals to lead the Trojans. Josh Stollman added one goal and two assists while Tommy Monaghan had one goal and one assisst. Adding single goals were Tyler Crothers, John Carrozza and Chris Tronoski. Brooks Melvin had a pair of assists, and Pat Bauer and Pat Magdalinski each had one assist.
UPPER DUBLIN 10, INTERBORO 5
Liam Duke led the Flying Cardinals with three goals and one assist while teammates Leighton Young and Michael Rama also both added the hat trick. Ben Winebrake contributed two goals and two assists to close out the scoring. Jack Deragon turned away eight shots in goal for the Flying Cardinals while teammate Robby Moran had one save.
