BASEBALL
Senior Mike Franklin (Souderton) had a career-night at Medlar Field, striking out 10 batters and allowing four hits in Penn State's 2-0 win over Bucknell on Wednesday. The 10 strikeouts is a lifetime best and the complete game is the first of his career. The Nittany Lions plated a single run in the seventh inning to break a scoreless tie and added another run in the eighth. Franklin did the rest, allowing just five base runners on the evening.

Freshman pitcher Matt Hollenbeck (Hatboro-Horsham) threw 1.1 innings of scoreless relief to close out Georgetown’s 14-2 loss to Notre Dame in the final game of a three-game series on Saturday.

Senior Adam Kammler (Pennridge) hit a solo home run in the 12th inning to give La Salle a 2-1 victory over Fordham in the nightcap of a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon. Kevin Christy (North Penn) picked up the no-decision after throwing 7.1 innings, allowing one run and striking out eight. The North Penn grad now needs 15 strikeouts to become the all-time leader at La Salle. The win salvaged a split for the Explorers, who dropped game one by a 3-1 score. In Friday’s 5-0 loss to Fordham, junior Shane Petrellis (Council Rock South) tossed a scoreless eighth inning. In Wednesday’s 7-5 loss to Villanova, Jon Gyles (Central Bucks West) was 1-for-3 with a run scored and RBI. Kammler also had an RBI.

Craig Lepre (North Penn) was 1-for-1 with a double, RBI and two runs scored in Albany’s 20-4 win over UMBC on Friday. Albany took three of four games from UMBC in this weekend’s series. Lepre was hit by a pitch five times in the series.

Keith Meyer (Council Rock South) doubled and scored a run in Bloomsburg’s 8-6 win over Lock Haven on Saturday. In Sunday’s 11-1 win over Lock Haven, Meyer doubled home a run. Nick Donofry (Council Rock North) pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

Freshman second baseman Billy Fleming (Council Rock South) led West Virginia with three hits, two runs and an RBI in the Mountaineers 8-4 win over Pitt on Friday night in front of more than a thousand fans at Hawley Field. The attendance ranks as the third highest in Hawley Field history. In Tuesday’s 17-6 win over Akron, Fleming scored a pair of runs.

Chris Edgar (North Penn) was 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI in Millersville’s 8-5 win over East Stroudsburg on Friday.

Robbie Zinsmeister (North Penn) was 1-for-3 with a double and three runs scored in IUP’s 4-3 win over Slippery Rock in game one of a twinbill on Friday. In IUP’s 3-2 loss to Pitt-Greensburg in nine innings on Wednesday, Jared Week (Council Rock North) pitched two shutout innings in relief, allowing just two hits and striking out one.

Junior left hander AJ Wright (Council Rock South) tossed a complete game three-hitter as Ursinus College defeated Penn State-Brandywine 7-0 on Thursday. Wright fanned six and walked three while improving to 2-3 on the season.

Philadelphia University leftfielder Ken McCormick (Pennsbury) was selected as the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) baseball rookie of the week last Monday. McCormick recorded a .533 batting average (8-for-15) in four games for the Rams. He hit two home runs, drove in five runs and scored five times. In an 8-0 win over Dominican (N.Y.), McCormick went 3-for-3 with a home run, double and two RBIs. He posted a 3-for-4 effort, including a home run and two runs scored, in a loss to Felician. This season McCormick is hitting .268 and is on a seven-game hitting streak. He is leading the team with 20 RBIs, eight doubles, two home runs and a .384 slugging percentage.

Rob Spragis (Central Bucks South) earned the win on the mound in Philadelphia University’s 7-5 win over Bloomfield in the second game of a twinbill on Saturday. The CB South alum threw 1.2 innings of scoreless relief, fanning two.

Tim Filer (Council Rock North) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs in Lebanon Valley’s 12-3 win over Albright on Saturday. In Wednesday’s 13-4 win over Delaware Valley, Filer collected two hits and scored three runs.

Tyler Guentter (North Penn) earned the win on the mound in Arcadia’s 18-11 win over Penn State Abington on Wednesday. The North Penn grad entered the game in relief and worked five innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits while walking two and striking out four to earn his first victory for Arcadia.

Eric Ruth (North Penn) allowed two hits and one run in an inning of relief in Winthrop’s 10-3 loss to The Citadel on Tuesday. In Friday’s 9-8 win over Radford, Ruth worked the first five innings, allowing three earned runs while walking two and fanning six.

Joe Mullin (Central Bucks South) and Joe Crane (Council Rock South) both had two hits in Chestnut Hill’s 6-5 loss to Caldwell College in 11 innings in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. In the Griffins’ 9-4 win in game two, Ray Puskar (Pennridge) was 4-for-5, which included a run-scoring single in the Griffins’ five-run seventh inning. Alex Latchum (Central Bucks South) contributed a single while Mullin delivered a triple. In Chestnut Hill’s 9-4 win over the University of the Sciences, Puskar delivered four hits, finishing the game 4-for-5 with a triple and two RBIs. Latchum also contributed a pair of hits.  

Drew Frankenfield (Wissahickon) was 3-for-5 with a double and two runs scored in York College’s 15-5 loss to Wesley College on Friday in the second round of the 2012 Capital Athletic Conference Tournament.

Ryan Brown (Souderton) walked twice, recorded two hits, scored twice and drove in two runs in Messiah College’s 13-4 win over Arcadia on Friday afternoon. In Wednesday’s 20-8 win over Susquehanna, Brown had two hits, including a home run, plus a walk and three RBIs. In Tuesday’s 9-8 loss to Shenandoah, Brown delivered an RBI double.

Sophomore second baseman Daniel Seitzinger (Central Bucks West) was 1-for-3 with a run scored and RBI in Moravian’s 11-1 win over DeSales on Tuesday.

Jeremy McAlack (Council Rock North) went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs scored in Philadelphia Biblical’s 7-3 win over Baptist Bible College on Tuesday.

Pete O’Hara (Council Rock North) delivered a two-run triple while teammate Mike Ferrier (Pennridge) had an RBI double in Delaware Valley’s 11-10 win over FDU-Florham in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. In Friday’s 4-3 loss to FDU-Florham, O’Hara was 3-for-5 with a stolen base and run scored. In Wednesday’s 13-4 loss to Lebanon Valley, O’Hara delivered an RBI single.

Mike Bradstreet (North Penn) collected a pair of outs in the ninth inning to record his eighth save of the season in Rhode Island’s 8-7 win over Xavier on Friday. It is the fourth best single season save total in URI history.

Matt Hone (Council Rock North) contributed a hit and two RBIs in Widener’s 5-4 win over King’s College on Wednesday. In Tuesday’s 5-4 win over Gwynedd-Mercy, Hone was 2-for-4 with a run scored.

Robert Morak (Abington) earned the win in Penn State Abington’s 7-6 win over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, working 1.2 innings in relief and allowing just one run on three hits.  Michael Corrigan (William Tennent) was 1-for-3 with a run scored. In Monday’s 4-3 win over Lancaster Bible College, Corrigan was 2-for-3. Brian Camp (Cheltenham) earned the win on the mound to improve to 4-2 on the season, allowing two earned runs in 6.2 innings while walking three and fanning four. In Abington’s 24-3 win in game two of the twinbill sweep, Corrigan was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs while Will Erskine (North Penn) was 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Chris Hunter (Pennsbury) was 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI, and Henry Rosenbloom (Cheltenham) had one hit and two RBIs.

Sophomore Greg Welsh (Council Rock South) allowed one hit and one run in 1.1 innings of relief in Penn State’s 5-2 win over Iowa on Friday.

Eric Smith (Plymouth Whitemarsh) was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs in Eastern University’s 18-10 win over Immaculata College on Tuesday.

Ryan Pater (Central Bucks East) was 1-for-4 in St. Joseph’s 7-2 loss to Charlotte on Saturday. In Friday’s 8-7 win over Charlotte, Pater was 3-for-5. On Tuesday night, Pater was 1-for-3 with a run scored in St. Joe’s 6-3 win over Penn in the championship game of the 21st annual Liberty Bell Classic at Citizens Bank Park. The win is the first for the Hawks in three title game appearances. After the game, the Hawks were awarded the Liberty Bell Classic championship trophy, and each member of the squad received a gift to commemorate the victory. Phillies President and CEO David Montgomery was on hand to make the presentation.

Freshman Ryan Downs (Council Rock South) smacked a three-run homerun and added an RBI sacrifice fly in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 20-1 win over Philadelphia Biblical on Saturday in game two of a doubleheader. Sophomore John Burns (Neshaminy) added three hits and senior Tom Mackey (Neshaminy) added a solo homer. In Friday’s 23-0 win over Philadelphia Biblical, Downs had a solo homerun. In Tuesday’s 5-4 loss to Widener, Burns was 2-for-5 with two RBIs.

MEN’S BASKETBALL
Senior men’s basketball guard Josh Howard (Bensalem) was one of five student-athletes recognized at Penn State Abington’s annual Honors and Leadership Awards Banquet on Wednesday, celebrating student achievers and leaders. Howard was the recipient of the Wes Olsen Memorial Scholar Athlete Award, which is given to one male and female athlete who participated in the current school year and has the highest cumulative GPA after completion of two semesters. This prestigious award can only be received once in an athlete’s career. Throughout his career at Penn State Abington, Howard has been recognized for demonstrating outstanding qualities of character, scholarship, leadership and citizenship both on and off the court. He has been named to the dean’s list multiple times and has one of the highest grade point averages among his peers. He exemplifies the character of a true student-athlete by sacrificing his time to help others in the community.

MEN’S LACROSSE
Midfielder Andrew Girondo (Upper Dublin) collected eight ground balls and won eight draws in Penn State Abington’s 24-0 loss to Keuka College.

Sophomore Shawn Caven (Pennsbury) had eight ground balls and was 10-for-20 in face-offs in Ursinus College’s 12-7 win over Muhlenberg on Saturday night. Teammate Andrew Kirlin (Central Bucks East) had two assists.

Heath Kupecky (Upper Merion) scored four goals in Messiah College’s 16-2 win over Alvernia on Saturday night. In Wednesday’s 13-7 loss to Widener, Kupecky had two goals and three ground balls.
Johnny Casey (Abington) scored a pair of goals in Widener’s 16-10 win over Lebanon Valley on Saturday. The win punched the Pride’s ticket into the Commonwealth Conference Tournament. In Wednesday’s 13-7 win over Messiah, Casey connected for the hat trick.

Bill Schwartz (Central Bucks East) scored a goal in Eastern University’s 16-5 win over Manhattanville College on Saturday.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE
Senior Lauren Greco (Council Rock South) scored three goals in Holy Family’s 15-2 win over Wilmington University on Thursday.

Natalie Draham (Wissahickon) scored a goal in Bloomsburg’s 13-11 win over Slippery Rock on Saturday. In Friday’s 16-6 win over Edinboro, Ashley Bossert (Wissahickon) scored a pair of goals.

Junior Roxanne Brown (Pennridge) scored a goal while senior Ali Cross (Upper Dublin) made 10 saves and had two caused turnovers in Shippensburg’s 16-6 loss to No. 15 Gannon on Saturday. Cross, one of five seniors recognized prior to the start of the game, has started in goal for the Raiders for the last 12 games, making 110 saves and posting a 44.7 save percentage. As a junior, Cross led the team with 35 draw controls. Between the field and goal, Cross has totaled 11 goals, seven assists, 59 draw controls and 27 caused turnovers while making 120 saves. In Friday’s 13-12 loss to Mercyhurst, Cross made a career-high 15 saves. Six of those came on free position opportunities for the Lakers. Cross also had a caused turnover and two ground ball pickups. In Tuesday’s 17-7 loss to No. 10 Lock Haven, Cross made eight saves and recorded three caused turnovers. Brown contributed a goal.

Rachel Coyle (Souderton) had seven draw controls and was credited with three ground balls in Messiah’s 21-6 on Saturday. Rachel Dirksen (Abington) contributed three goals and two assists. In Wednesday’s 15-5 win over Widener, Dirksen scored six goals and assisted on another. Coyle was credited with three draw controls, three caused turnovers and three ground balls.

Hannah Vogel (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed a goal and an assist in Millersville’s 22-7 loss to No. 15 Gannon. Karen Illuminati (Upper Moreland) also had a goal.

Kendall Rood (Central Bucks East) scored two goals and contributed an assist in Eastern University’s 14-13 loss to Misericordia. In Wednesday’s 15-7 loss to FDU-Florham, Rood scored one goal.

Sophomore Amy Cross (Upper Dublin) contributed an assist in Syracuse University’s 16-9 win over Louisville on Saturday. In Tuesday’s 16-9 win over Cornell, Cross contributed a goal and an assist. Syracuse is No. 1 in the latest RPI released by the NCAA on April 17. The Orange jumped ahead of unbeaten Northwestern to take the top spot for the first time in school history. Syracuse, which is ranked No. 2 in both the coaches and media polls, improved to 12-2 and extended its winning streak to 11 games with its win over Louisville.

Emily Maher (Pennridge) broke the single season draw control record at American University in the Eagles’ 13-11 loss to UMBC on Tuesday, tallying a team-high six to put her season total at 57. She surpassed the record set in 2003. Maher also contributed a goal and an assist.

Danielle Savoni (Hatboro-Horsham) tallied the hat trick in Penn State Abington’s 16-10 loss to Medaille College on Saturday afternoon. In Wednesday’s 12-10 loss to Wilson College, freshman Victoria Brady (North Penn) scored four goals while Savoni added a pair.

Brady was one of five athletes recognized at Penn State Abington’s annual Honors and Leadership Awards Banquet, which celebrates student achievers and leaders. Brady was honored with the President’s Award, which is given to first-year students university wide. The award is designated for freshmen that attain a 4.0 GPA. Since her arrival at Penn State Abington, Brady has made a name for herself within the athletic department. On the lacrosse field, Brady leads the team in draw controls (28). She is third in goals with 20, fourth in points with 22 and fourth in ground balls with 17. Brady has worked with specialized children at the Variety Club, and she also gives back to the community by volunteering in the soup kitchen.

Stephanie Bianco (Upper Merion) scored a pair of goals in IUP’s 23-8 loss to ninth-ranked West Chester on Saturday. Liz Wilson (Abington) had five ground balls to lead West Chester defensively while Stacey Pellechia (North Penn) contributed the hat trick. In Friday’s 17-11 win over Kutztown, Bianco scored one goal. Leeann Pica (Neshaminy) contributed one goal and one assist and led Kutztown with six ground balls and two caused turnovers. In Monday’s 22-6 win over Tiffin, Bianco contributed the hat trick.

Pica contributed two goals and an assist in Kutztown’s 16-12 loss to Mercy on Tuesday. Pica leads the club with 21 goals and 26 points. She has six multi-goal games and tied her career high of four goals against Philadelphia on March 27.

Kelly McKay (Pennridge) scored six goals and contributed an assist in Chestnut Hill’s 20-16 loss to Georgian Court on Saturday. In Thursday’s 22-12 win over Philadelphia University, McKay had two goals and four draw controls. In Tuesday’s 13-9 win over Holy Family, McKay had two goals.

Senior Sara Ciaverelli (North Penn) was credited with four ground balls in La Salle’s 20-7 loss to #9/#16 Massachusetts on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Amy Powell (Plymouth Whitemarsh) contributed two goals and two assists in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 17-8 win over Notre Dame (Md.). In Thursday’s 22-12 win over King’s, Jenna D’Arcy (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed three goals.

SOFTBALL
Junior Deanna Myers (Williams Tennent) finished Holy Family’s sweep of Concordia on Saturday 5-for-8 at the plate. Myers launched her fourth home run of the season to finish the day with two runs and one RBI. It was the 18th home run of her career. Teammate Lindsey Iden (Council Rock North) finished with a pair of hits (2-for-7) to go along with two RBI and a run scored. Holy Family won game one by a 7-0 score and completed the sweep with a 6-5 win in game two. Freshman Kelsi Bunda (Pennsbury) had a run-scoring hit in game two to put Holy Family on top 5-4. In Thursday’s split with Philadelphia University, Iden was 3-for-6 at the plate. She scored three times and recorded three RBIs. Holy Family won the opener 6-5 while PU took the nightcap 7-6.

Samantha Schoell (North Penn) was 2-for-4 in Temple’s 10-1 win over Rhode Island in the second game of the Owls’ doubleheader sweep on Friday. In Wednesday’s 3-1 win over Monmouth, Schoell started a two-out, two-run rally in the third inning with a double down the left field line.
Schoell remains in the top 10 of a national statistical category through games played on April 15. Schoell jumped two spots and is fourth in sacrifice hits per game. For the third year in a row, Schoell is leading the team in sacrifice hits, collecting a career-best 14 already this season. With 0.42 sacrifices per game, there are only three players in the country with a better per game average than Schoell, the Owls’ captain.

Jaime Schwartz (Souderton) collected a pair of hits for Eastern University in its doubleheader against Manhattanville College on Saturday. Katelyn Donald (North Penn) had an RBI single in Eastern’s 6-4 loss in game two.

Mary Ward (North Penn) was 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored in IUP’s 5-0 win over Clarion in game one of a twinbill on Friday.

Sophomore Stephanie Farrar (North Penn) drove in two runs and scored twice in Gwynedd-Mercy’s 10-0 win over Rosemont in game one of a twinbill on Friday. In Gwynedd’s 14-8 win in game two, freshman MaryKate Ballerino (Hatboro-Horsham) and junior Tegan Wendell (Abington) both scored three times. Wendell added an RBI triple.

Kristen Palmerio (Norristown) picked up a pair of wins in Lebanon Valley’s twinbill with Albright on Friday. She carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning of game one – a 1-0 win - before being thwarted by a bunt single. Chelsea Detwiler (Norristown) recorded one of Lebanon Valley’s only two hits in the win. In Lebanon Valley’s 7-2 win in game two, Palmerio helped her own cause by doubling in the team’s first run in the top of the first. Palmerio allowed a pair of runs early but did not allow a run over the final four innings. In Tuesday’s 5-1 win over Ursinus, Detwiler finished with two hits.

Alicia Hughes (Quakertown) tossed a complete game shutout in Millersville’s 2-0 win over Shippensburg on Saturday, allowing just four hits and striking out four. She finished the year with a 7-13 record. In Millersville’s 5-2 loss to Shippensburg in game two of Saturday’s twinbill, Gabbie Berry (Norristown) contributed an RBI single.

Heather Hannum (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-4 with a home run, one run scored and two RBIs in Kutztown’s 5-2 win over East Stroudsburg in game one of a twinbill on Saturday. In Kutztown’s 7-3 win in game two, Hannum had one hit, one RBI and one run scored. Hannum is batting .310 and has four homers on the season.

Freshman Liz Parkins (Souderton) went the distance on the mound in Shippensburg’s 2-0 loss to Millersville on Saturday, allowing seven hits while striking out three. In Friday’s 4-2 loss to No. 4 Kutztown, Parkins absorbed the loss, allowing seven hits and one earned run while striking out six.

Jesssica Schuck (Council Rock South) was 2-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs scored in West Chester’s 19-4 win over East Stroudsburg in game one of a doubleheader sweep on Friday. Devon Utterback (Central Bucks South) earned the win on the mound. In Monday’s 11-1 win over University of Sciences, Kim Begley (Abington) was 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Melissa Spinosa (Hatboro-Horsham) contributed a hit and RBI while Erin Quense (Neshaminy) was 1-for-1 with a run scored. Devon Utterback (Central Bucks South) pitched a complete game four-hitter, allowing one run, one walk and striking out two. In West Chester’s 4-2 win in game two, Begley contributed a hit and an RBI while Schuck also contributed a hit. Spinosa stole a pair of bases.

Kelly Hendrickson (William Tennent) threw both games of Philadelphia Biblical University’s doubleheader against Rutgers-Camden on Thursday, and although the Crimson Eagles dropped both games (9-1, 5-0), Hendrickson got stronger as the day went on, allowing only five hits and two earned runs in game two. Teammate Ashley Mitchell (Pennsbury) collected one of the team’s three hits in the 5-0 loss. In Philadelphia Biblical’s 15-3 loss to Delaware Valley on Tuesday, Hendrickson was 2-for-4 while Mitchell was 1-for-3. Hendrickson once again tossed both games of the doubleheader. She is the Colonial States Athletic Conference leader in innings pitched (119.2), starts (22) and appearances (24).

Jalisa Clarke (Council Rock North) contributed an RBI single while Tiffany Sipler (Upper Merion) earned the win on the mound in Penn State Abington’s 3-2 win over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon. Sipler fanned one and allowed just two runs on seven hits. In Tuesday’s 12-2 win over St. Elizabeth, Sipler earned the win, working five full innings and allowing just two runs and one hit while striking out three and walking four. Clarke delivered a two-run double and teammate Melissa Kulp (Upper Merion) stole home.

Leftfielder Casey McGill (Upper Merion) had a 3-for-7 day at the plate in Green Mountain’s sweep of Johnson State College on Friday (7-6, 14-13). She also scored four times and drove in four runs.

Chelsea Edwards (Hatboro-Horsham) was 1-for-3 with an RBI triple in Lock Haven’s 5-2 win over Bloomsburg on Friday in game two of a twinbill.

Senior Rachel Gieringer (Hatboro-Horsham) was 2-for-3 in East Stroudsburg’s 5-2 loss to Kutztown on Saturday. The former PSAC East Freshman of the Year finished her career ranked in ESU’s top 10 in 10 offensive categories, including second in home runs (17) and RBIs (85). She had a career .339 average and hit .355 with five homers and 25 RBIs as a senior.

MEN’S TRACK & FIELD
Elizabethtown’s Luke Rotenberger (Quakertown) was 0.4 off his PR in the 400m hurdles at Saturday’s Widener Invitational. Rotenberger ran 56.53, the fourth best time of 21 entries. He also ran a leg of the 4x400m relay that finished in 3:23.62, also a program best this year. Chris Niles (Central Bucks South) also was a member of the 4x400m relay.

Widener’s Paul Reilly (Upper Dublin) finished 16th in the 800m race at the Princeton Invitational on Friday, posting a time of 1:51.59, an IC4A qualifying time. Teammate Steve Kandetzke (Upper Dublin) crossed the finish line in ninth place in the 800m race at the Widener Invitational, posting a time of 1:56.59.

St. Joseph’s Jon Eisemann (Central Bucks South) finished 15th in the 200m dash at the Larry Ellis Invitational in Princeton, N.J., this weekend, posting a time of 22.14. Eisemann and Tyler Dougherty (Central Bucks South) were members of the 4x200m relay team that finished third with a time of 1:28.82. Last Saturday at the Delaware Open, Eisemann and Dougherty were part of the 4x100 relay team that finished first with a time of 42.81. Eisemann grabbed third in the 200m (22.52) as Dougherty finished behind him in fifth (22.93). Matthew Sutorius (Central Bucks West) finished sixth in the 110 hurdles with a time of 16.67.

Freshman Chris Glennie (Pennsbury) led Villanova University with a seventh place finish in the javelin (49.02m) at Saturday’s Widener Invitational.

Penn State sophomore Nick Scarpello (Central Bucks West) earned a victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a season-best 9:21.75 at the War Eagle Invitational at Auburn on Saturday. Brandon Bennett-Green (Cheltenham) finished fourth in the 400-meter while teammate Matt Gilmore (Cheltenham) finished fifth.

Millersville’s Zach Kohler (Pennridge) topped all pole vault finishes with a 3.81-meter leap at the Mason-Dixon Invitational on Saturday.

Freshman Brandon Mercer (North Penn) and sophomore Keith Parker-Washington (Upper Moreland) were part of East Stroudsburg’s 4x100 relay team that ran a season best of 41.30 to set the meet and stadium records in ESU’s Seventh Annual All-American Meet on Saturday afternoon. Mercer finished second in the 100m (11.09) and 18th in the 200m (23.28). Parker-Washington finished fourth in the long jump (21-7 ½). Christopher Walker (Pennridge) finished second in the 400m hurdles with a time of 57.72. Walker and Parker-Washington were part of the fourth place 4x400m relay.

Bryan Hennessey (Pennridge) was part of Bloomsburg’s 4x800 relay team that set a new school record of 8:01.07 at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday.

WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELD
St. Joseph’s Emily Chappell (Central Bucks South) finished seventh in the 10,000m at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Saturday in Princeton, N.J., posting a time of 38:35.63. Kelsey Rose (Upper Dublin) was part of St. Joe’s distance medley relay team that finished fourth in a field of 13. Rose finished 20th out of 74 runners in the 800m, posting a time of 2:14.16. Last Saturday, Kayla Charles (North Penn) had a pair of fifth place finishes in the hurdles at the Delaware Open, finishing the 100m hurdles in a time of 15.00 and the 400m hurdles in 1:07.10. Rose finished fourth in the 1500 m with a time of 4:42.45.

Penn State senior Ijeoma Iheoma (Council Rock South) was the top Lion in the women’s quarter at the War Eagle Invitational on Saturday at Auburn, finishing fourth in 53.98.

Lock Haven’s Vanita Moses (Neshaminy) finished second in the hammer throw at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday with a throw of 175-09. The mark is a PSAC qualifier and NCAA provisional mark. It breaks her own school record. Teammate Christina Ohmott (Hatboro-Horsham) finished fifth in the pole vault with a PSAC mark of 11-1.75.

East Stroudsburg senior Lauren Brown (Pennsbury) finished ninth in the 200m dash on Saturday at the East Stroudsburg University All-American Invitational, crossing the finish line in 27.62 seconds. Khaliah Darden (Pennsbury) was part of ESU’s 4x100 relay team that claimed fifth place with a time of 50.49.

IUP’s Ayanna LeBlanc (North Penn) won the shot put with a mark of 42-09 at IUP’s Ed Fry Invitational.

Kutztown’s Jill Kostishion (Pennridge) finished eighth in the 1500m run at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton on Saturday, posting a time of 5:07.32.

Bloomsburg’s Kate Dodds (Upper Dublin) had a PR in the 800m with a time of 2:25.78 at the Bucknell Team Challenge on Saturday.

MEN’S VOLLEYBALL
Sophomore Austin Jacoby (Pennridge) totaled 16 kills and 13 digs as Stevenson fell to No. 11 Medaille for the third time in as many games this season with a 16-25, 25-27, 26-24, 21-25 loss in the ECAC Division III South Championship on Saturday. Stevenson concludes its 2012 season with its third postseason appearance and third 20-win season in the last four years.
