HATBORO-HORSHAM 9, SPRINGFIELD (DELCO) 1
The Hatters found themselves deadlocked 1-1 at the end of one quarter but outscored Springfield 8-0 the rest of the way on their way to the decisive win. The Hatters were led offensively by Jimmy Murphy (two goals, two assists), Trevor Downing (two goals), Jake Durkin (one goal, three assists), Pat Downing (two goals) and Connor Kreston (two goals).
Dom Defazio, Tyler Gehlhaus and Jake Cresta led the Hatters defensively. Mark Proust notched his 14th win in goal while recording 11 saves. Ryan New and Ryan Higgins also contributed defensively. Steve Palo controlled the face-offs, and Defazio led the Hatters with 10 ground balls.
The Hatters improved to 10-1 in league play (14-2 overall).
PENNSBURY 11, HOLY GHOST PREP 9
The Falcons opened up a 4-1 lead at the end of one quarter, but the Firebirds trimmed that lead to 7-6 by halftime. The Firebirds went on to open up an 8-7 lead before the Falcons scored four straight goals to take an 11-8 lead late in the fourth quarter. The Firebirds closed out the game with a pair of goals.
Pennsbury was led by Calvin Hopkins (four goals, one assist) and Colin Sullivan (two goals, three assists). Ryan McDonald and Andrew Probst both added a pair of goals. Sean McDonald added three assists while Ryan McDonald and Lewis Sears each added an assist.
Pennsbury goalie Drew Sweetland, who finished with 17 saves, had several big saves down the stretch. The Firebirds held a 41-29 advantage in shots. With the win, the Falcons upped their record to 15-1.
PENN CHARTER 9, ABINGTON 7
Penn Charter jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the end of one quarter, and the Ghosts – despite outscoring Penn Charter 7-5 the rest of the way – never could make up the ground they lost.
Ryan Ambler (one assist), Brian Gallagher and Hunter Jones each scored two goals to lead the Ghosts. Matt Figueroa scored one goal, and Matt Gormely had an assist to close out the Abington scoring. Travis O’Connor was credited with 17 saves in goal. The Ghosts fell to 11-5 overall.
