NESHAMINY 5, WILLIAM TENNENT 0
Conditions were anything but ideal when Neshaminy travelled to Tennent for Tuesday’s game, but that didn’t prevent the Redskins from turning in a gem.
“As soon as we got off the bus, it started raining, and it got progressively harder and harder as the game went on,” coach Dave Chichiletti said. “It was very, very miserable.
“We didn’t hit the way we wanted to, but (Lauren) Quense pitched a great game.”
Quense allowed just two hits and walked one, and despite the conditions, the Redskins played flawless defense behind her.
The Redskins wasted little time before seizing control of the game, plating three runs in the first inning. Diana Lapalombara laid down a bunt single, stole second and scored on Julia McGovern’s double. Quense helped her own cause with an RBI single to put the ‘Skins on top 2-0. That lead grew to 3-0 after Sam Offenback delivered an RBI single.
The Redskins added a pair of runs in the fifth inning for the 5-0 final.
“We would have liked to hit a little bit better, but we put the bat on the ball hard,” Chichiletti said. “We only struck out once, but they made some nice plays.
“We know coming down the stretch these teams are going to play us like playoff teams. They know if they beat Neshaminy they probably get to go to the playoffs, but we’re playing these games as championship games because next week we want to play a championship game (against Pennsbury), and we know we can’t have any hiccups along the way or that game won’t mean anything.”
The Redskins upped their record to 10-1 in league play (15-1 overall) while the Panthers fell to 5-7 in the league (11-8 overall).

PENNSBURY 6, HARRY S TRUMAN 3
Christina Bascara continued her torrid offensive production, contributing a two-run home run in a five-run second inning for the Falcons. She finished the game a near-perfect 3-for-4.
“Her bat is so quick,” coach Frank McSherry said.
Jordan Hunke’s RBI double ignited the Falcons’ five-run uprising. Pennsbury added a single run in the third to go on top 6-0. The Tigers didn’t go down quietly, plating three runs in the sixth.
“They battle,” McSherry said of the Tigers. “They just keep coming at you, and they seem to play their best game against us.”
While the Tigers fell to 6-6 in league play (7-10 overall), the Falcons upped their record to 11-0 in the league (15-1 overall).

BENSALEM 7, ABINGTON 6
The Owls opened up a 5-0 lead in the top of the first only to watch the Ghosts rally to knot the score, plating a single run in the first and two runs in both the third and fourth innings. The Owls took a lead they would not lose when they plated a single run in the top of the sixth and added an insurance run in the top of the seventh before the Ghosts scored a run in the bottom of the inning.
“It was a wild game,” Bensalem coach Dan Schram said. “Abington came to play. They were so pumped up. They had their Senior Night, and Ellie (White) is a great coach.
“They really, really came to play. They gave us a (heck) of a fight.”
Isabel Hansbury once again ignited the Owls’ offense, finishing the day 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of triples. Jen Campbell was 2-for-3 with two triples and two RBIs. Kelly Nolan had a pair of RBIs and Victoria Hall also had an RBI.
Jackie Morell earned the win on the mound, allowing six hits and fanning seven.
While the Ghosts fell to 4-8 in the league (8-10 overall), the Owls improved to 5-7 in league play (10-7 overall).
“It was a tremendous win for us,” Schram said. “Right down to the very last out, this was anyone’s game.
“The way the Suburban One National is this year – you can’t just look at the boxscores and say, ‘I’m going to score this amount, and they’re going to score this amount.’ There are no free rides here.
“Abington played us so hard. There was a lot on the line for both teams. It’s a shame there had to be a winner.  This was probably the closest battle we’ve had all season. They’re playing great softball too. I’m very proud of our girls. We’re just learning how to win.”

COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 11, COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 0 (5 innings)
Sophomore Bailey Bigler delivered the game’s big blow – a grand slam. Junior Dom Pinto had a triple and double, and Hannah Mumber had a pair of doubles to lead the Indians to the decisive win.
While the Golden Hawks saw their record drop to 1-11 in league play (2-14 overall), the Indians improved to 5-7 in the league (8-7 overall).
