On Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012, six Council Rock North student-athletes were recognized at a special news conference for committing to play collegiate soccer. (One has since elected not to play.)
Lexi Crocker – Temple University (Soccer)
Coach Larry Sullivan says: “Lexi is a crafty offensive player. She’s talented and quick. She’s really good with her feet, and she has a great shot. She reads the game well. I think if she dedicates herself she’s going to be a good D-1 player.”
Caitlin Hannagan – Bryant University (Soccer)
Coach Larry Sullivan says: “Caitlin is 6-1 or 6-2. She’s not real fast but she’s strong, and she could dominate a defense. She scored big goals for us last year.”
Alex Hoffman – Kutztown University (Soccer)
Coach Larry Sullivan says: “Alex got our most improved player (award). She was tall, and I played her in the center of the field because she wasn’t fast, but she read the game well and did exactly what I told her to do in the center of the field. She came along pretty good.”
Alexa Hone – South Carolina Upstate University (Soccer)
Coach Larry Sullivan says: “Alexa Hone was the heart of our team, she was the spirit of our team. She was the number three forward in the 4-3-3, and she ran the whole game. She wasn’t big, but she was quick, she was fast. She was a lion, and she made things happen for us. She even went in the goal for us one time. She was just one of those kids. Some kids for the rest of your life, you love them. I love Alex Hone.”
Sarah Scheidell – Temple University (Soccer)
Coach Larry Sullivan says: “Sarah is a very talent player with good feet. She played striker for us. I see her in midfield at the D-1 level. She has a great shot, and she understands the game.”
