CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH BOYS’ SOCCER PREVIEW
Coach: Don Brady / 9th Season
Assistant coaches: Kevin Gearhart, Patrick Balkit
Last year’s record: 15 wins, 8 losses, 1 draw (Overall), 9 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw (SOL), Final Four – District 1., 1st Round PIAA Playoffs – first time for CB South.
Notable losses: Mike Serban – scored 18 goals – St. Joseph’s University, Stephen Pieri – 2nd Team All-League – Bloomsburg University, Jarod Meyer, Todd Rainey, and Matt Zarro
Key returners: Pat Berneski - Jr., Def., Adam Remick - Sr.,Def., Connor Stackhouse - Sr., MF., Matt Weigner - Jr., GK.
Others to watch: Bryan Brady, Sr./F., Matt Gilbert, Sr./MF., Brendan Rennie, Sr./MF., Andrew Denno, Jr./D., Dan Busichio, Jr./MF.
Strengths/Question Marks: Technically sound team with returning players who have varsity experience. Talented senior class has the ability to lead this team. Who is going to replace the 18 goals scored by Mike Serban? Can the defense improve upon the 10 shutouts and give up fewer goals?
Outlook: “The Titans expect to continue to build upon the success of the past two seasons. The team lost in the first round of the PIAA playoffs to Central Dauphin, 2-1, playing without their starting GK and utilizing their Central MF in goal. With the loss of only five starters and the majority of their defense returning, the team has its sights on a complete season of winning the majority of matches, competing for a league title, and lead them back to a playoff berth once again this season.”
