NESHAMINY 3, COUNCIL ROCK NORTH 2
In the SOL’s marquee matchup, the Redskins used Brittany Sheenan’s hat trick to win a contest that knocked the Indians out of the top spot in the conference and gave Neshaminy sole possession of first place.
A goal by Kate Keller put the Indians on top early, but Sheenan scored the equalizer to send the teams into halftime deadlocked 1-1. Gabby Tofig scored to give the Indians a 2-1 lead, but Sheenan answered with back-to-back goals for the big win.
The Redskins are 11-1-1 in conference play (13-3-1 overall) while the Indians fall to 11-2 in conference play (12-5 overall).

ABINGTON 2, PENNSBURY 1 (OT)
Faith Geating has had her share of moments in the spotlight this season, but the Ghosts’ senior goalie was more than happy to see her twin sister, Katherine Geating, stealing the headlines after scoring both goals in Abington’s dramatic win over the Falcons on Monday.
“Katherine Geating was getting shots off at the top of the circle,” coach Amanda Deering said. “She just kept battling, and this is something that is well deserved for her.
“She’s been an important part of our offense but unfortunately hasn’t been able to get that finishing touch that we needed for goals. Today she found the cage and made her goalkeeping sister very proud.
“They’re twins, and one is supposed to put the ball in and the other is supposed to keep the ball out. Faith has been having great games lately, and today she was very, very proud of her sister. Those two are the best of friends, and finally, Faith got to give Katherine all the glory.”
The Falcons actually got on the scoreboard first when Rachel Godart scored an unassisted goal at the 10:54 mark of the first half. The Lady Ghosts responded 48 seconds later when Geating scored, using a Jackie Farides assist. Neither team scored in the second half, setting the stage for overtime that saw Geating score an unassisted goal at the 8:56 mark.
“This is our biggest win, but I am not that surprised,” Deering said. “My kids have been working hard and plugging away.
“We tied them the last time we played them. I was just waiting for them to score the goals that they needed to. We kind of have a set lineup now after all the injuries, and people are starting to grow into the new positions they’re in.”
The Ghosts upped their record to 3-7-3 in SOL play (4-9-3 overall) while the Falcons fell to 5-6-1 in the league (5-10-1 overall).
HARRY S TRUMAN 1, BENSALEM 0
Mikaela Pachecko scored 13 minutes into the second half, and that goal held until the final whistle sounded.
“It was great because we beat Bensalem once, so we knew they would be upset,” Truman coach Dawn Cantwell said. “We came out and played really hard to guarantee that we would have another win.
“The beginning was rough, but once we came around and started playing together, we got the score and got it in the net.”
Cantwell acknowledged the strong performance of left mid Crystal Wheeler.
“She helped make the connection between defense and offense and was good at helping send it up to the forwards,” the Tigers’ coach said. “She and Christine Hoon were on our left side, and they were just playing so well together. They took the ball up the field together countless times.”
The Tigers are 2-11 in league play (4-12 overall) while the Owls are 0-12-1 in the league (0-14-2 overall).
COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH 2, WILLIAM TENNENT 0

PENNRIDGE 5, CENTRAL BUCKS EAST 2
The suddenly streaking Rams extended their winning streak to four games on Monday. Addy Marshall led the Rams, connecting for the hat trick. Teammate Melissa Herd assisted on all three goals as the two found a magical connection.
Marshall (Herd assist) and Herd (Kelly Wolff assist) scored back-to-back goals to put the Rams on top 2-0 midway through the first half. Marissa Glatt cut that lead in half with a goal at the 12-minute mark, but Marshall answered for the Rams, once again using an assist from Herd. The Rams took that 3-1 lead into the intermission.
Glatt (Emily Rosenthal assist) scored six minutes into the second half to make it a 3-2 game, but Marshall (Herd assist) completed the hat trick with a goal at the 2:50 mark. Jess Csaszar connected with 50 seconds remaining for the 5-2 final.
The Rams held an 18-5 advantage in shots and a 7-4 edge in corners. Pennridge goalie Sarah Seiler was credited with four saves while her counterpart had nine.
The Rams improved to 5-7-1 in league play (8-7-1 overall) while the Patriots fell to 2-11 in the league (4-12 overall).

UPPER DUBLIN 2, PLYMOUTH WHITEMARSH 1
The Flying Cardinals won a rain-shortened game that was called early in the second half due to heavy rain, standing water and dangerous playing conditions.
“It was a nice win, but I feel bad that it wasn’t a complete game,” coach Heather Boyer said. “I was actually on the receiving end at PW a couple of years ago when we lost 1-0. We gave up a goal in the first half, and it started raining, and it was called early.
“That was so disappointing, and we talked about that before the game. We said, ‘More so than ever, it’s really important to play well in the first half and score early and score often because if it’s halftime and the weather isn’t cooperating, this game will stand as it is.’”
It was PW that actually got on the scoreboard first on a goal by Baileigh Newsum at the 21:02 mark. Kayla Mullen scored an unassisted goal to send the teams into halftime deadlocked 1-1.
Alycia Hildebrand (Sydney Lang assist) scored during corner play at the 28:15 mark of the second half. That goal turned out to be the game winner.
“I don’t think I have ever been in a sporting contest where it rained so hard,” Boyer said. “We kept playing and playing. PW – to their credit – really did pressure and had a couple of corners.
“It was hard for the girls to see, and they kept fouling because they couldn’t see. Ten minutes into the half they called us together and agreed it was unsafe, so they called it. It’s unfortunate.”
The win avenged an early season 3-1 loss at the hands of the Colonials.
“I thought we had a lot of opportunities in that game, but we just did not convert,” Boyer said. “The Konowal sisters played a really great game that day, and we didn’t capitalize on our opportunities, and they did, so that was frustrating. To come back and win today was good.”
Boyer acknowledged the strong play of Sloane O’Riley.
“She used to be in the midfield, and last week, I put her on defense in the middle of the game,” the Flying Cardinals’ coach said. “I wanted to see what she could do, and she did great. I started her there on Saturday, and she did great again. So I started her today, and she did really good.
“Overall, the girls did a great job of trying to maintain their composure. It was bad out there.”
Upper Dublin goalie Dana Russell had four saves while her counterpart had three. PW held a 7-6 edge in corners.
Upper Dublin upped its record to 5-8 in the league (5-11 overall) while the Colonials fell to 6-7 in the league (6-10 overall).
WISSAHICKON 2, NORRISTOWN 0
Lindsay Anderson broke a scoreless tie when she connected with just over four minutes remaining in the first half, using an Emily Gallager assist. A Gallagher goal (Stacie Rocco assist) 13 minutes into the second half gave the Trojans their final margin of victory.
The Trojans had an advantage in shots (15-1) and corners (13-2). Norristown goalie Jess Grose was credited with 11 saves while her counterpart, Claire Tarzia, was not forced to make a save in the shutout.
Coach Stacie Staufenberg lauded the performance of several of her players.
“Natalie Mitichell had a strong game,” the Eagles’ coach said. “Her moves and passing were sharp, and her marking was even better.
“Jess Grose played well in net.”
While the Eagles fell to 6-6 in league play (8-8 overall), the Trojans improved to 12-1 in the league (14-3 overall).
UPPER MERION 2, CHELTENHAM 1
Monday’s contest was called early in the second half due to unplayable field conditions after a torrential downpour.
The Vikings took a lead five minutes into the game on goal by Danielle Antonucci (Kaitlyn Lutz assist), but with four minutes remaining in the half, the Panthers rallied to knot the score on a goal by Gabby Szczepanek. Lindsay Zamites answered with a goal 59 seconds later that turned out to be the game winner, using an assist by Mia DiBella.
The Vikings improved to 7-5 in league play (8-6 overall) while the Lady Panthers fell to 3-10 in the league (3-13 overall).

SPRINGFIELD (MONTCO) 7, UPPER MORELAND 0
Alyssa Buckley connected for the hat trick while teammate Julie Cardamone added a pair of goals. Colleen Morris and Adrienne Baer each added single goals for the Spartans, who led 4-0 at the intermission.
The Spartans are 11-1 in the league (12-1 overall) while the Golden Bears fell to 0-13 in league play (1-15 overall).
Saturday, Oct. 13
METHACTON 5, UPPER DUBLIN 1
Alexa Hoover scored all five goals for the Warriors – three in the first half and two in the second. Cydney Christian (Jennifer Harchut assist) scored Upper Dublin’s lone goal during corner play in the second half.
Dana Russell and Julia McKernan split time in goal for the Cardinals.
“Both did a really nice job,” coach Heather Boyer said. “Alexa Hoover may be one of the best forwards I have ever seen.”
The game was Upper Dublin’s fourth annual Corners for Cancer contest, and the initial tally of funds raised was close to $3,000.
