Strengths/Question Marks: We have an experienced starting five who have all played Varsity since ninth grade. Our balance on offense and intelligence and athleticism on the defensive end create what should be a successful combination. Team chemistry is a definite strength. We have an inexperienced bench, and one key to our success will be who shows that they're willing and able to step up and adjust to their new role in the program. With the season-ending injury of junior forward Hailey Kaunert - who was expected to get significant time this year - we lack depth and size at the post position. We have a lot of potential but must consistently play at a high level in order to compete in a very difficult conference.
Outlook: We are talented enough to be very successful throughout the regular season and earn a good seed in Districts. The guard combination of Picard, O’Connor and Gallagher will create some difficult match-ups for opposing teams. Wetzler and Derstein are working well together in the post and pose a definite threat under the basket.
