Kelsy Gumbert – West Chester University (Lacrosse)

Major:  Elementary Education

Reasons for choosing West Chester:  “I visited a lot of state schools - Bloomsburg and Lock Haven, but I chose West Chester because I love the lacrosse team and the coaches. That was my favorite part of that school.”

What was the progression that led you to playing collegiate lacrosse?  “Since I started high school lacrosse, my coach is really good friends with the coach at West Chester. We did some one-on-one clinics. She liked what she saw in me and asked me to play for her. It’s such a relief to know where I’ll be going to school, and I don’t have to stress out.”

Coach Kelly White says:  “West Chester is where I went to school, so this is kind of special. Since she was a freshman, Kelsy was special to our program. She was the only freshman to start on varsity. She had great stick skills. She was eager to learn, and she was coachable. That’s one thing I have loved, and she’s still coachable to this day. She’s always looking to improve her game. She’s so committed in the offseason. She’s one of the most dedicated players, which is why every year she continues to improve. She always wants to take it to the next level, always wants to improve her game.”
